Aelia's silhouette disappeared at the end of the corridor, leaving behind a suffocating silence in the air. Leonard struggled to rise from the ground, the blood at the corner of his mouth appearing particularly vivid in the dim light. He wiped his face awkwardly, but there was no hint of remorse in his eyes; instead, they glinted with a cruel intensity.
“Damn it! How dare you hit me!” Leonard cursed under his breath, clutching his painful chest as he limped deeper into the study. He opened a dark compartment, revealing a Magic Sphere that emitted a faint, eerie glow. Trembling, he picked up the Magic Sphere and gazed at it greedily, as if it were his only hope.
“For you, for our future, I must do this!” Leonard murmured to himself, his eyes betraying a mad obsession. The “you” he referred to was none other than his concubine hidden away outside, a woman who turned his world upside down. For her, he would go to any lengths, even betraying his wife and selling out his family.
Meanwhile, Luna in her cradle sensed an unusual magical fluctuation in the air. Her tiny body curled up in the swaddling cloth, her small pink fists clenched tightly, and her bright blue eyes sparkled with wisdom and determination beyond her years. “Oh no, he really is going to make a move!” Luna thought anxiously.
As a soul who had crossed over into this world, she was well aware of the plot of this novel. She knew that Leonard would collude with dark forces to please his concubine, aiming to seize control of the Glorious Demon Fortress and even resorting to harming Aelia! A wave of intense unease washed over her as she squirmed anxiously, wanting to cry out to her family but only managing to produce baby babble.
Desperately waving her tiny hands in an attempt to grasp something, she could only touch the soft silk around her. “I have to find a way to stop him!” Luna thought frantically. She understood that if Leonard's scheme succeeded, their entire family would fall into an eternal abyss.
Just then, Aelia's personal maid Qin Si rushed in, her face pale and her expression frantic. With trembling words, she revealed Leonard's conspiracy. As Aelia listened to Qin Si's account, it felt like a thunderclap striking her; she was left numb with disbelief. How could her beloved husband be so heartless as to put her life at risk for a concubine?
“No... it can't be...” Aelia murmured, her face as white as paper and her body swaying unsteadily. She staggered back a few steps and collapsed into a chair, her gaze vacant as if all vitality had drained from her. Years of love now seemed like a cruel joke! The happiness she once believed in was nothing more than an illusion that vanished in an instant.
Clutching her chest, she felt as though an invisible hand was gripping her heart tightly, making it hard for her to breathe. Overwhelmed by immense pain and despair, tears streamed down her face without making a sound.
At the same time, Aelia's elder brother sensed a strong magical fluctuation in his room.
He suddenly opened his eyes wide.
"This is... the aura of Dark Magic!" His elder brother's face darkened, a sense of foreboding rising within him.
He recalled the painful experience from years ago when he had been left disabled due to a Magic Backlash.
He could not allow his family to suffer any more harm!
Struggling, he sat up in bed. Though his body was still weak, his gaze was resolute, filled with determination.
He had to step up and protect his family, safeguard their legacy!
Taking a deep breath, he slowly raised his right hand, gathering a dazzling light in his Palm.
This light was the culmination of years of training and his only weapon against Dark Magic.
"I will not let anyone harm my family again!" he said softly, his tone firm and powerful.
He pushed open the door and resolutely walked toward the study.
In the Cradle, Luna sensed her brother's Magical Fluctuation and felt a flicker of hope ignite within her.
"Brother, you must stop him!" Luna silently prayed.
In the study, Leonard had completed the Dark Magic ritual.
The Magic Sphere in his hand radiated an even darker glow, an evil aura spreading throughout the room.
A sinister smile crept across his face as if he could already see the dawn of victory.
"Aelia, just wait! I will make you pay!" Leonard gritted his teeth and said.
At that moment, the door to the study was flung open, and her brother's figure appeared in the doorway.
"Leonard, stop!" her brother's Ailya's Roar echoed like thunder, shaking the entire study.
Leonard turned around, surprise etched on his face upon seeing him.
"You... how did you get here?" Leonard asked in shock, a hint of panic in his voice.
Her brother did not respond; he stepped closer to Leonard.
"You dare to collude with dark forces and betray our family; you deserve to die!" he declared with Ailya's Roar, his voice like that of a beast's Roar.
Leonard's expression changed drastically as he became aware that his scheme had been uncovered, fear flooding his heart.
"No... let me explain..." Leonard stammered, trying to defend himself.
"Explain? What is there to explain?" her brother retorted with Ailya's Roar as he raised his right hand, the light from his Palm growing even brighter.
"Today, I will cleanse our family of this filth!" he proclaimed, his voice echoing in the study.
He swung his hand fiercely, sending a brilliant beam of light straight toward Leonard...
Suddenly, a voice called from deep within the corridor: "Brother, wait!" The voice... it was Second Brother!
How could he be here?
The voice of Second Brother rang out like a thunderclap, echoing through the tense atmosphere of the study.
Eldest Brother's movements came to an abrupt halt, the light from his palm flickering slightly, yet he ultimately refrained from striking.
Leonard clung to this moment like a lifeline, gasping for breath, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
Second Brother staggered in, his frame gaunt, his complexion pale, yet his eyes burned with a fiery rage.
He glared fiercely at Leonard, as if he wished to devour him whole.
"Eldest Brother, stop." Second Brother's voice was hoarse and tinged with weakness, yet it held an undeniable firmness. "Let me handle this."
Eldest Brother hesitated, retracting his hand and looking at Second Brother with confusion.
He knew that Second Brother had always been non-confrontational and gentle in nature; now, however, he exhibited such a resolute demeanor that it left Eldest Brother astonished.
Second Brother slowly approached Leonard, his gaze piercing as if he could see through to Leonard's very soul.
"Do you still remember Carlos?"
Leonard's body trembled violently at the mention of Carlos—Second Brother's former close friend who had betrayed him during a crucial Magic Trial over rare Magic Materials, resulting in Second Brother's severe injuries and the crippling of his magical foundation, leaving him unable to recover.
"Why are you bringing him up?" Leonard's voice quivered, his eyes darting away as he could not bear to meet Second Brother's gaze.
Second Brother let out a cold laugh. "Of course I must bring him up! If it weren't for your protection of him, how would he dare to act so brazenly? If it weren't for your indulgence, I wouldn't have ended up in this state!"
His voice grew louder, filled with years of repressed anger and pain.
He suddenly seized Leonard by the collar and lifted him off the ground. "You would betray the entire family for a Concubine? Do you think you can face Mother and our Ancestors?!"
Leonard's face turned ashen with terror; he wanted to struggle but found himself powerless to resist.
At that moment, Third Brother also entered the room.
Upon witnessing the scene before him, his face was filled with guilt and self-reproach.

Eldest Brother and Second Brother exchanged glances before finally nodding in agreement.

Just then, Lucius and Luna also arrived at the study.
Upon discovering Leonard's conspiracy, Lucius was filled with righteous indignation. He discussed strategies to break the deadlock with Luna, his gaze resolute and brimming with determination, showcasing his loyalty and responsibility towards the family.
Although Luna was merely an infant, she possessed the soul of an adult. She was aware of Leonard's scheme and the impending crisis facing the family. Anxiously, she squirmed in her cradle, trying to make a sound to alert her family, but all that came out were the babbling sounds of a baby.
“Luna, don’t worry. We will protect you,” Lucius said as he approached the cradle, gently patting Luna's tiny hand with a tender yet firm expression.
Luna looked at Lucius, her heart filled with gratitude. She knew that many others in this family were silently guarding her and protecting their home.
The atmosphere in the study was heavy and oppressive; each person harbored their own thoughts yet worked tirelessly towards a common goal.
The eldest brother clenched his fists, filled with anger and resolve. He was determined to protect his family and safeguard their lineage!

“You all… have been deceived…” Leonard's voice was hoarse, laced with an eerie amusement.
His words struck like thunder in the study, echoing ominously…
