Ling Yuan silently noted this information, resolving in his heart to find the Blood Fiend Sect and avenge his parents and the sect. That evening, he approached his master, kneeling on the ground and saying, "Master, I have grown up. I want to venture into the martial world to seek out the Blood Fiend Sect and avenge my parents."
His master looked at Ling Yuan's determined eyes and sighed, saying, "Very well, you must face all of this. I could not protect Hidden Sword Sect back then, and now you seek revenge; I will not stop you. However, the martial world is perilous, so you must be cautious. Here is a copy of the Nameless Sword Manual, which I obtained by chance during my time in the martial world. Take it and practice diligently; it may help you."
Ling Yuan bid farewell to his master and set off on his journey through the martial world. Following the news he had overheard in a teahouse, he inquired about the whereabouts of the Blood Fiend Sect along the way. One day, he arrived in a bustling city named Feng Cheng, filled with many martial artists.
As soon as he entered the city, Ling Yuan noticed a crowd gathered around something lively. He squeezed through to see a burly man setting up a challenge arena, shouting loudly, "Is there anyone brave enough to challenge me? If you win, I'll reward you with a hundred taels of silver; if you lose, leave your weapon behind!"
Ling Yuan observed closely and realized that this man was ruthless in his techniques and was clearly affiliated with the Blood Fiend Sect. Remembering what his master had said about how members of the Blood Fiend Sect often set up challenge arenas to recruit followers, he decided to step up.
"I will challenge you!" Ling Yuan leaped onto the arena and drew his sword. The man scoffed upon seeing a young boy before him, saying disdainfully, "Kid, do you dare come here to die?" With that, he swung his large blade down.
Ling Yuan executed techniques from the Nameless Sword Manual, skillfully dodging and waiting for an opportunity to counterattack. Although his swordsmanship was not yet refined, his unique moves began to overwhelm the burly man. Eventually, Ling Yuan struck a blow that cut through the man's arm; with a cry of pain, the man conceded defeat and stepped down from the arena.
At that moment, several figures in black suddenly charged out from the crowd and surrounded Ling Yuan. It dawned on him that his earlier actions had attracted the attention of the Blood Fiend Sect. He remained calm and engaged in combat with the black-clad attackers. However, outnumbered and growing weary, Ling Yuan found himself struggling.
Just when he was in dire straits, a flash of white appeared as a woman wielding a long sword joined the fray. Her agile swordplay complemented Ling Yuan's techniques perfectly as they quickly pushed back the attackers.
"Thank you for saving my life," Ling Yuan said with cupped fists. The woman smiled slightly and replied, "No need for thanks. I noticed your swordplay seemed familiar; are you from Hidden Sword Sect?"
Ling Yuan was taken aback and quickly asked, "How do you know about Hidden Sword Sect?" The woman sighed and said, "My name is Su Xue. My father once met with Ling Tianyu, the leader of Hidden Sword Sect. When Hidden Sword Sect was bloodily massacred years ago, my father felt deeply regretful and even sent people to investigate this matter; unfortunately, there were no leads."
Upon learning Su Xue's identity, Ling Yuan relaxed his guard and shared his background with her. After hearing his story, Su Xue became indignant and said, "The Blood Fiend Sect is so wicked; we must find a way to eradicate them. My father is the head of Lingxian Pavilion; perhaps we can seek help from them."
Ling Yuan nodded in agreement, and together they headed toward Lingxian Pavilion. Along the way, they looked out for each other while fending off attacks from the Blood Fiend Sect, their bond growing deeper with each passing moment.
