On this day, Hidden Sword Sect was enveloped in tranquility. The disciples were diligently practicing their skills while the sect leader, Ling Tianyu, was in the conference hall discussing matters with several elders. Suddenly, a loud crash shattered the peace as the hall's doors were violently flung open, and a wave of bloodlust surged in. Several bloodied disciples stumbled in, one barely managing to speak, "Sect Leader, it's bad! Enemies have invaded; they... they kill anyone on sight without warning!"
Ling Tianyu's expression changed drastically. Gripping his sword tightly, he rushed out of the conference hall. The scene before him made his heart sink; the once peaceful sect was now a river of blood, with disciples lying lifeless in pools of gore. A group of masked figures in black were mercilessly slaughtering everyone in sight, their movements precise and lethal—clearly trained assassins.
"Stop!" Ling Tianyu roared as he charged forward. His Hidden Sword Manual unleashed a torrent of sword energy, and several black-clad figures fell beneath his blade. However, the attackers were numerous, and their leader was exceptionally skilled, matching Ling Tianyu blow for blow.
As the fierce battle raged on, a shadow slipped like a wraith into Ling Tianyu's quarters. On the bed lay his wife, Su Qing, cradling their newborn son, Ling Yuan, her face etched with terror. The shadow sneered coldly, brandishing a dagger that glinted ominously as it lunged toward Su Qing. With no time to resist, she instinctively shielded her child with her body, blood staining the swaddling cloth.
The fight continued throughout the night; Hidden Sword Sect was nearly annihilated. In his duel with the leader of the black-clad assassins, Ling Tianyu was gravely injured and on the brink of death. Gazing at the corpses strewn across the ground filled him with sorrow and rage. With his last ounce of strength, he entrusted his still-infant son Ling Yuan to a loyal disciple, urging him to flee and seek survival.
Ten years later, in a small town in Jiangnan, a handsome young boy worked as a waiter in a teahouse—he was none other than Ling Yuan, who had narrowly escaped that fateful night. Over the years, he had traveled with his master who kept their identities hidden to protect him while they made ends meet through odd jobs.
Ling Yuan had grown up hearing tales of Hidden Sword Sect's tragic fate from his master; revenge had long taken root in his heart. Every day he secretly practiced basic martial arts taught by his master. Although his master never mentioned Hidden Sword Sect's sword techniques directly, Ling Yuan understood that only by becoming strong could he avenge his parents and restore honor to his sect.
One day at the teahouse, several martial artists gathered around discussing recent events in the martial world. "I heard that the Blood Fiend Sect has been growing increasingly audacious lately—burning and pillaging everywhere. I wonder how many sects have suffered at their hands," one remarked.
"Blood Fiend Sect?" Ling Yuan's heart tightened; he recalled his master's words about those responsible for the massacre of Hidden Sword Sect potentially being from Blood Fiend Sect. He leaned closer to listen intently to their conversation.
"The leader of Blood Fiend Sect is Bloodhand Asura Xiao Fan—highly skilled and ruthless; no one dares provoke him," another added. "However, there's been talk of a mysterious figure secretly investigating Blood Fiend Sect's activities; it seems they are preparing to confront them."
