Luna, the seemingly innocent little girl, harbored plans that could shake the very foundations of the world.
She clutched her mother Aelia's skirt tightly, as if grasping the Dark Purple Thread of Destiny, gently swaying as she said in a baby voice, "Mother, the real show is about to begin..."
Aelia tenderly stroked Luna's soft golden hair, her eyes filled with love.
Little did she know the true meaning behind her daughter's words, nor could she foresee that this foreshadowed an unprecedented storm approaching the Glorious Demon Fortress.
"Mother," Luna blinked her big eyes and feigned innocence as she asked, "Is Father very busy lately? I haven't seen him in a long time."
Aelia paused slightly; Leonard had indeed been home less often, always making excuses to avoid coming back.
She had never doubted her husband before, but ever since Luna arrived in this world, she had a nagging feeling that something was quietly changing.
Luna secretly observed Aelia's expression and continued, "I heard there's a new dessert shop in the south of the city. The pastries there are delicious! If Father knew, he would definitely take you and me to try them."
The dessert shop in the south was precisely where Leonard and his concubine Tryst spent their time.
Luna's seemingly casual remark was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, creating ripples that spread far and wide.
Aelia's expression shifted slightly; she forced a smile and said, "Luna is so good. When Father has time, we will go together."
However, Luna's next words shattered Aelia's facade completely.
"But, Mother," Luna's voice suddenly dropped, tinged with an almost imperceptible tremor, "I heard that Father... he has already taken someone else to that dessert shop..."
Aelia felt as if struck by lightning; her face turned pale in an instant.
She tightly embraced Luna, her body trembling slightly as if a vibrant flower had suddenly lost its water and wilted away.
Luna gently patted Aelia's back.
At the same time, Luna began to address the predicaments of her older brothers.
She first sought out her eldest brother, once a Genius Mage who had become disabled due to a Magic Backlash and had since fallen into despair.
"Eldest brother," Luna said in her tender voice, "the magic within you hasn't disappeared; it has just been sealed. You need to find the Moon Tear; it can help you break the seal."
At first, the elder brother did not believe her, but Luna's determined and confident gaze compelled him to trust her.
Following Luna's instructions, he found the "Moon Tear" and successfully broke the seal, reigniting his passion for magical cultivation.
Next, Luna sought out Second Brother.
Second Brother had been deceived by a close friend and fell into a Magic Dilemma, his spirit crushed.
Luna revealed the friend's scheme, and Second Brother suddenly understood, filled with gratitude towards her.
Finally, Luna found Brother San.
Brother San had always been considered a Magic Genius since childhood, but he had squandered his talent due to arrogance and complacency.
Luna pointed out his flaws with piercing clarity, and Brother San awakened to his mistakes, deciding to take his training seriously once more.
The Glorious Demon Fortress was quietly undergoing changes due to Luna's arrival.
Aelia felt her heart wrench when she learned the truth, but she did not succumb to despair.
She summoned her trusted maid Qin Si, determination shining in her eyes.
“Qin Si,” Aelia's voice was low yet resolute, “go and bring me my jewelry box…”
Aelia's fingertip brushed over the precious gems; these had once been gifts from Leonard, symbols of their love and glory.
Now, each one seemed to mock her naivety.
Taking a deep breath, she selected the least conspicuous Sapphire Ring and handed it to Qin Si.
“Madam…” Qin Si looked at Aelia with concern, hesitating to speak.
“Enough,” Aelia interrupted her, her gaze unwavering. “Take this ring to the largest magic guild in the city for appraisal. Remember, do it discreetly; no one must know.” The Sapphire Ring contained hidden depths; it was given to her by a reclusive master during her travels across the continent. Inside was sealed a recording of Leonard’s last night with Leonard's Concubine.
This was her final trump card and a weapon for retaliation.
Qin Si accepted the ring, feeling the weight of that trust. She nodded firmly. “Rest assured, Madam. I will handle it.”
Aelia watched Qin Si's departing figure, leaning wearily against the back of her chair.
She closed her eyes, and the hypocritical face of Leonard emerged in her mind.
Since he had already torn off the mask, she wouldn’t hold back any longer!
Meanwhile, Leonard was wrapped around his Concubine, indulging in sweet nothings at a dessert shop in the southern part of the city.
He was completely unaware that an invisible net was quietly closing in on him.
As evening approached, Aelia changed into a simple Starry Gown, presenting herself with an air of elegance.
She knew tonight would be a tough battle.
She intended to show Leonard that she, Aelia, was not someone to be trifled with!
Slowly rising, she walked to the window and gazed at the Magic Castle in the distance, painted red by the setting sun.
The wind carried a hint of biting coldness, stirring her hair.
She whispered softly, “Leonard, are you ready? The game has begun…”
