"There are two reasons: the first is to align with last year's case involving Wang Keyi, which necessitates Yu Xin's drowning; the second is that this is the method the murderer used to create an alibi.
The specifics of the first point will be explained by Su Zhen later. I will focus on the alibi. Yu Xin's time of death was around four o'clock in the afternoon, and during that time, everyone present has an alibi: Mei Tiantian and Wang Zhe were at a birthday party, Wang Qi was attending a class gathering, and Zhao Yi was organizing exam papers at the research institute.

In order to 'realistically' recreate signs of struggle from when the victim drowned, they deliberately grabbed Yu Xin's hands and scooped up some dirt by that small creek. But what they didn't anticipate was that this dirt filled with fingernails raised my suspicions. Afterward, under cover of night, they moved the body to where it was discovered."
The manager brought over the drinks we had ordered, and the atmosphere immediately quieted down.

"Once we think about it this way, who would want to 'avenge' Wang Keyi? The first two people that come to mind are Wang Keyi's cousin—Wang Zhe—and her mysterious boyfriend from before her death. If it were Wang Zhe, then his primary target shouldn't have been Yu Xin but rather another person who made a mistake back then—Mei Tiantian."
