The Legend of the Immortals Prequel: Wilderness Journey
The dark clouds that swept in suddenly occupied the entire sky above Azure Cloud Mountain Peak, thick and black like ink, deep as the starry sea, seemingly possessing the power to reverse the heavens and earth.
Wan's body trembled, but a hint of joy appeared on his face as he said, "'Demon Banner'! The leader has made a move."
Mr. Ghost stood behind Wan, his gaze also directed towards Azure Cloud Mountain Peak. However, the light in his eyes flickered; it was not entirely joyful, as there seemed to be a hint of worry.

Above Tongfeng in the Azure Cloud Mountain Range, what was once a place of celestial beauty, The Eight Desolations and Six Harmonies, was now completely shrouded in dark clouds, a bloody aura permeating the air. The ethereal white Clouds seemed to have turned into a shocking dark red. Countless figures flashed, raced, and battled beneath this vast and eerie black curtain, with blades flashing and blood splattering. Various magical treasures emitted chaotic lights, and cries of anguish and sharp howls echoed continuously. At times, Blood Flowers and severed limbs flew up, creating a scene of extreme carnage.
This time, the Demon Cult was fully committed, including the four major sects that had previously operated independently: Changsheng Hall, Wandu Sect, Ghost King Sect, and Heavenly Joy Sect. All their elite members gathered here under the leadership of Demon Cult Leader Qiu Wangyu, launching a frenzied siege against the righteous sect with a thousand-year legacy, Azure Cloud Sect.
As for Qiu Wangyu, he was an extraordinary talent not seen in the Demon Cult for many years. It is said that he started from humble beginnings, exceptionally gifted. In his youth, he joined the Demon Cult and later gained immense opportunities in the Barbaric Sacred Hall. Since then, his cultivation advanced rapidly; he was decisive in battle and strategic. After achieving great mastery, he unified most factions of the Demon Cult within twenty years, revitalizing an organization that had been divided for years. Now, it had only been two years since he ascended to the position of leader.
With such an outstanding figure present, it is unimaginable what achievements he might reach given more time.
At this moment, beneath the black clouds, both sides were engaged in a life-and-death battle. The Demon Cult led by the four major sects surged forward with fierce momentum; strange individuals and bizarre magical treasures emerged endlessly amidst their overwhelming ferocity. In contrast, although Azure Cloud Sect was initially caught off guard by the surprise attack from the Demon Cult and found themselves at a disadvantage, how could a thousand-year-old prestigious sect be merely a name? Looking around, Azure Cloud Disciples formed formations or stood alone to resist; their sword lights blazed brightly as they steadfastly held back the onslaught of the Demon Cult.
Among the most intense battlefields in The Eight Desolations and Six Harmonies, there was a middle-aged man dressed in azure robes. He had thick eyebrows and large eyes; his appearance was ordinary but held a dazzling azure spiritual sword in his hand that shone brilliantly. Like a soaring dragon, he wielded it with fluid grace as if moving like clouds and flowing water. His movements were expansive yet controlled; those from the Demon Cult were awed by him, invigorating morale among Azure Cloud Sect.
However, there was soon a response from within the Demon Cult. Two figures quickly approached—one man and one woman. The man at the forefront possessed an unusual appearance; his face bore both yin and yang features—one half pale as usual while the other half resembled dark jujubes—looking quite strange. Following him was an extremely beautiful woman whose eyes sparkled with charm yet held an alluring enchantment. They were two leaders from among the four major sects of the Demon Cult: the man was Duan Hou, leader of Changsheng Hall, while the woman was Moonlight Fairy, leader of Heavenly Joy Sect.
As these two powerful figures made their move, they immediately blocked that azure-clad expert. At this moment, they heard Moonlight Fairy's soft voice like spring water laughingly say, “Zheng Tong, old man! It's been many years; you still look quite robust!”
The ordinary-looking man was none other than Zheng Tong, current head of the Dazhu Peak lineage within Azure Cloud Sect. He had gained fame over many years as a disciple of Supreme Master Zheng Chengzi, known for his high cultivation level. Although currently blocked by two powerful opponents from the Demon Cult, Zheng Tong remained composed. With his spiritual sword flashing brilliantly in hand, he appeared to hold his ground against both adversaries without falling behind completely. Upon hearing Moonlight Fairy's teasing remark, he snorted coldly and glanced at her with disdainful eyes before simply saying, “Enchantress!”
Moonlight Fairy smiled sweetly while covering her chest; she looked infinitely gentle but was ruthless beneath her soft demeanor. Waves of sinister winds surged towards Zheng Tong, striking at his vital points without mercy.
However, compared to Moonlight Fairy, what concerned Zheng Tong even more was the silent figure beside her—Duan Hou. This man possessed an unusual appearance with a face divided between yin and yang. Moreover, he wielded a magical treasure—a yin-yang mirror—that changed unpredictably with various strange transformations that made it difficult to defend against.
However, Zheng Tong is a renowned expert from the Azure Cloud Sect with many years of experience, having seen all kinds of situations. Although these two Demonic Cult Monsters are formidable and have teamed up to attack him, he still managed to hold his ground. However, this left him unable to support the surrounding Azure Cloud Disciples, causing the situation on the battlefield to tilt further in favor of the Demonic Cult.
After fighting for more than ten rounds, Zheng Tong frowned tighter, a hint of anxiety flashing in his eyes. In contrast, Duan Hou and Yuehua appeared increasingly relaxed, merely entangling Zheng Tong and preventing him from escaping.
Just as the battle was reaching its peak, Zheng Tong suddenly changed his expression, letting out an angry roar as he leaped into the air. He didn't even have time to defend against the Xuan Hei Yi Mang reflected from Duan Hou's Yin Yang Mirror. With a loud bang, he was struck by the black light of Dao Xuan, causing him to stagger and spit out a mouthful of blood, retreating more than ten feet.
A strange, low-pitched shriek echoed from where Zheng Tong had been standing. Moments later, a mass of Clouds suddenly dispersed on the ground, revealing an extraordinarily bizarre Seven-Tailed Centipede that flapped its wings and let out two cries at Zheng Tong, before swiftly flying backward and disappearing into the sleeve of a man who had suddenly appeared beside him.
Zheng Tong looked somewhat pale as he coldly glanced at the slender man who had just appeared, saying in a chilling voice, "Old Poisoner!"
Duan Hou raised an eyebrow but said nothing. The nearby Moonlight Fairy laughed and said, "The Poison God looks down on you!"
This man was none other than the leader of the Wandu Sect, one of the four major factions of the Demonic Cult, known as the Poison God. He appeared gaunt with gray hair and looked somewhat aged, but his eyes sparkled with intensity. He glanced at Zheng Tong without anger and simply smiled, "Master Zheng has always held himself in high regard; naturally, he looks down on us evil outsiders."
"Bah!"
Zheng Tong sneered coldly and had no intention of wasting words with these Demons. He drew his spiritual sword and charged upward without any fear. However, the three leaders of the Demonic Cult were incredibly powerful. Even though Zheng Tong had gained fame over many years with profound skills, he was quickly forced into a corner under their combined assault. Especially with that Poison God, whose potent poison techniques were relentless; he frequently released toxins to distract Zheng Tong, forcing him to divide his attention.
As a result, the situation for the Azure Cloud Sect on top of the Eight Desolations and Six Harmonies became increasingly dire. Dark clouds rolled ominously above as if the extraordinary treasure known as the Demon Banner, derived from the Demonic Cult's secret manual "Magic Strategy," was benefiting these Demonic Cult Monsters, boosting their morale and intensifying their offensive.
At this critical moment, a sudden thunderclap erupted from above. A flash of lightning illuminated the sky as a figure appeared high in the air, wielding a shimmering blue sword. The figure took seven steps through the air while chanting incantations. A series of sounds like thunder followed as winds whipped up clouds in turmoil. In an instant, a massive pillar of lightning struck down from above with tremendous force that seemed to shake even the towering mountains.
The members of the Demonic Cult turned pale. The Moonlight Fairy gasped in shock and retreated first while shouting, "Divine Sword Thunder Subduing True Formula!"
The Poison God swiftly dodged backward and vanished into the crowd.
Just as Duan Hou was about to retreat, he suddenly realized that what had initially seemed like a massive area being struck by lightning was now converging into one single strike aimed directly at him.
At that moment, Duan Hou was taken aback; his face turned pale as he realized that everything done by that figure earlier had merely been a show of strength. The final powerful move aimed at him was all directed toward himself.
In a critical moment, Duan Hou shouted loudly, holding the Yin Yang Mirror in front of him. The yin and yang shifted continuously, transforming countless times in an instant, as if the surrounding space were twisting along with it, and his figure became blurred within that light and shadow.
However, the overwhelming might was beyond human resistance. With a single strike, the mountains shook and the earth trembled; the changes of yin and yang shattered like a broken mirror, scattering like flowing clouds.
Amidst the loud noise, the ground cracked and people flew. Duan Hou let out an angry roar and was sent flying backward, disappearing from sight in an instant. From afar came his furious curse: "Zhenwu Old Nun, you dare to plot against me? Remember this..."
The figure of a woman in mid-air snorted coldly as she descended. She wore a white daoist robe, was tall in stature, and had hints of white hair at her temples. Despite this, she appeared spirited and her expression was stern as she coldly glanced around. For a moment, no Demonic Cult Monster dared to approach.
Zheng Tong let out a sigh of relief, stepped forward, and cupped his hands in gratitude: "Thank you, Senior Sister."
This woman was Master Zhenwu, the head of the Zhu Feng lineage within the Azure Cloud Sect. In terms of seniority, she was even a senior sister to the current Supreme Master Zheng Chengzi and was a highly respected elder within the Azure Cloud Sect. She usually had a strict demeanor and was revered by the disciples of the sect.
At this moment, Master Zhenwu used the Azure Cloud Sect's ultimate technique, Divine Sword Thunder Subduing True Formula, to temporarily repel the three major experts of the Demonic Cult, easing the situation for a time. However, dark clouds rolled ominously above; on this battlefield, the Demonic Cult still held the upper hand. Both Zhenwu and Zheng Tong wore worried expressions as they involuntarily looked up toward the thick black clouds.
Just then, suddenly from within that deep black cloud that resembled ink and was as profound as the sea came a long laugh that resonated like a bronze bell. A deep male voice echoed across heaven and earth: "Old man Cheng, you've exhausted all your tricks; now you are out of options and are no match for me. Why not surrender?"
As if in response to the voice of the man in the black clouds, the thick black clouds rolled like tides, boiling over and obscuring the sun.
