Luna's big, sparkling eyes shone with a wisdom that transcended her age.
She kicked her little legs, wriggling free from Aelia's embrace, her chubby fingers pointing at the enormous magical map hovering in the air.
The ancient Elvish Language glimmered like stars, framing her pink Luna, as if she were a tiny deity descended to the mortal realm.
“Mother, here!” Luna's voice was youthful yet resolute, her small finger landing on a hidden node on the map. “If we control this spot, we can cut off Leonard's connection to the outside world!”
Aelia's heart skipped a beat as she leaned in closer, scrutinizing the location Luna had indicated. It was an abandoned mine in the Northeast Corner of Magic Castle, long forgotten by everyone.
“That place... isn't it already abandoned?” Aelia asked, puzzled.
Luna smiled triumphantly, a mischievous curve forming at the corners of her mouth. “No, Mother! It connects to a secret Teleportation Array! Leonard has been using it to meet his lover outside!”
Qin Si gasped in shock, exclaiming, “Oh my! Lord is so audacious!”
Aelia's eyes ignited with righteous anger as she tightly embraced Luna, as if grasping a lifeline.
“Luna, how do you know all this?”
“It’s written in the books!” Luna replied without hesitation, her tone innocent and carefree, as if stating the obvious.
Aelia was taken aback. She knew that since birth, Luna had shown signs of being extraordinary, as if possessing some mysterious power.
Could it be that this child was truly sent by heaven to save Magic Castle?
“Alright! We’ll do it your way!” Aelia resolved firmly; she would stop at nothing to expose Leonard’s true nature and reclaim everything that belonged to her!
Taking a deep breath, she turned her gaze toward her three silent sons.
“Eldest Brother, Second Brother, Brother San, I have made up my mind—we will strike back!”
The eldest brother on the wheelchair slowly lifted his head, complex emotions flickering in his deep-set eyes.
The Magic Backlash had taken away his Twin Legs and with it, his pride.
But his love for the family had never changed.
“Mother, I support you!” The elder brother's voice was deep and powerful. “I will use the magic I have left to help you.”
He raised his frail hand and gently stroked the Magic Tome resting on his knee. The Grimoire seemed to sense its master's determination, emitting a faint glow.
The Second Brother clenched his fist tightly, his handsome face filled with anger and hatred.
The pain of betrayal by a close friend was something he could never forget.
“Mother, I support you too! That bastard Leonard dared to betray you; I will not let him get away with it!” the Second Brother said through gritted teeth.
Brother San lowered his head in shame. He had been so absorbed in his Magical Talent that he neglected his training and became nothing more than a wasteful person.
“Mother, I’m sorry…” Brother San's voice was filled with regret. “I was too immature before. From now on, I will work hard to train and make up for my mistakes.”
Aelia looked at her sons with relief; they had finally awakened!
“Good! Let’s work together to reclaim everything that belongs to us!” Aelia’s voice was filled with strength.
Qin Si excitedly rubbed her hands together, eager to help.
“Madam, what can I do?” Qin Si asked impatiently. “I will do everything I can to help you out of this predicament!”
“Qin Si, prepare some potions for Concealment Cloaks and some Magic Artifacts that can confuse our enemies,” Aelia instructed. “We need to sneak into that Abandoned Mine without anyone noticing!”
“Yes, Madam!” Qin Si immediately sprang into action. She was fiercely loyal to Aelia and would do anything for her.
Just then, Lucius walked in, looking at Aelia and Luna with a complicated expression.
“Mother…” Lucius’s voice was hesitant. “I…”
Aelia looked gently at her Third Son, knowing that Lucius had always harbored some feelings for Leonard.
“Lucius, I know you're feeling troubled,” Aelia said softly. “But you must understand that Leonard has betrayed us. Everything he has done is for his own sake. Are you really going to watch our family be destroyed by him?”
Lucius closed his eyes in pain, struggling within himself.
On one hand, he longed for the family to regain its former glory; on the other hand, he felt a twinge of reluctance towards Father.
Finally, Lucius slowly opened his eyes, and his gaze became resolute.
“Mother, I understand now,” Lucius said. “I will stand by you and Luna. For the future of our family, I am willing to give everything!”
Aelia smiled with relief.
“Good! Let’s work together!” Aelia said again, her voice filled with hope.
Luna laughed joyfully, her little face brimming with confidence.
She knew that as long as she was there, the Magic Castle would surely overcome its difficulties and return to glory!
That night, as darkness fell and the stars dimmed,
the Abandoned Mine in the Northeast Corner of Magic Castle appeared especially eerie under the cover of night.
Several shadows silently slipped into the mine: Aelia, Luna, Elder Brother, Second Brother, Brother San, Qin Si, and Lucius.
Aelia held a magic lantern and carefully led the way.
Luna was tightly held in her arms, curiously observing everything around her.
“Mother, it’s right here!” Luna suddenly pointed to a hidden corner ahead.
Aelia followed Luna’s direction and saw an entrance made of piled-up stones.
“Here?” Aelia asked in confusion. “How could there be a Teleportation Array here?”
Luna smiled proudly, "Mother, trust me, this is Leonard's secret passage!"
Aelia took a deep breath, deciding to believe Luna.
"Everyone be careful, let's go take a look!" Aelia said.
The group cautiously moved aside the scattered stones, revealing a dark entrance.
The entrance seemed bottomless, as if it led to the very gates of hell.
Aelia raised her magical lantern, illuminating the scene inside the cave.
Deep within the cave, a complex Magic Circle was slowly rotating, emitting a dim glow.
"It really is a Teleportation Array!" Aelia exclaimed.
Just then, a chilling wind blew from the depths of the cave, making everyone’s hair stand on end.
"Be careful!" the eldest brother suddenly shouted, "There's danger!"
In the darkness, a spine-chilling laughter echoed.
"Hehehe... Since you've come, you might as well stay!"
A sinister voice reverberated through the cave, sending shivers down their spines.
Who was it? Who was watching them from the shadows?
Aelia's heart raced; she tightly embraced Luna and vigilantly watched everything around them.
"Prepare for battle!" Aelia said in a low voice.
A fierce battle was about to erupt...
Suddenly, Second Brother exclaimed, "Not good, someone is coming!"
Everyone turned to look in the direction of the voice and saw a group of men appearing at the entrance of the mine. The flickering light of their torches illuminated their cold armor, and at the forefront was Leonard's trusted confidant—
He raised the corner of his mouth, revealing a meaningful smile. "Madam, it's good to see you again..."
The captain, Karl, clad in armor as dark as Obsidian, wore a sly grin that shattered the deathly silence within the mine.
The torches crackled, casting light on his weathered yet cunning face, resembling a hyena lurking in the shadows of the night.
"Madam, it's good to see you again..." Karl's voice was deep and hoarse, like a snake hissing; each word carried an unsettling coldness.
The soldiers behind him were well-trained, quickly spreading out to encircle Aelia and her companions. The sound of drawn swords and knives scraping against their sheaths was like the whisper of death, tightening everyone's hearts.
Aelia's expression darkened; she hadn't expected Leonard to react so swiftly.
But at this point, retreat was not an option for her.
She held Luna tighter, as if trying to transfer all her strength to this small beacon of hope.
"Karl, what do you mean by this?" Aelia's voice held a hint of anger but she struggled to maintain her composure. "Do you intend to betray your master?"
At her words, Karl let out a low chuckle, as if he had heard the greatest joke.
"Betrayal? Madam, you are the true traitor here! The Lord of the Fortress is infatuated with you, yet you secretly conspire with outsiders to overthrow the rule of Magic Castle. That is true betrayal!"
"You're turning black into white!" Second Brother roared in fury; his hatred for Leonard burned even hotter at that moment.
"It is clearly Leonard who betrayed Mother, seeking pleasure outside and even wanting to—"
"Shut up!" Karl barked sharply, cutting off Second Brother's words.
"The matters of the Lord of the Fortress are not for you to discuss recklessly! I come on the Lord's orders to capture rebels; those who dare resist will be killed without mercy!"
Karl's gaze instantly sharpened as he waved his hand. The soldiers immediately raised their weapons in hand, ready to launch an attack.
“Mother, let me do it!” the eldest brother suddenly said, struggling to stand but unable to rise due to his disability.
Yet he did not give up; he raised his hands with great effort, murmuring incantations as a faint magical light flickered at his fingertips.
“Eldest Brother, you…” Aelia watched her brother’s struggle, her heart aching.
She knew his condition was dire, and forcing the use of magic could cause him even greater harm.
“Mother, don’t stop me!” His voice was weak but resolute. “For the family, for the Magic Castle, I am willing to give everything!”
The magical light grew stronger, gradually coalescing into a beam that shot toward Karl.
Karl scoffed dismissively, waving his hand to conjure a black Magic Shield in front of him, easily blocking the eldest brother’s attack.
“Easily defeated!” Karl mocked. “With such trivial magic, do you think you can stop me?”
At that moment, Brother San suddenly charged forward, wielding his magic wand. Flames erupted from Zhang Jian, surging toward Karl like a Fire Serpent.
“Brother San, be careful!” Aelia cried out. She knew that while Brother San had decent Magical Talent, he severely lacked practical experience.
Karl remained unfazed; he swiftly dodged the flames and kicked Brother San in the abdomen, sending him flying.
Brother San crashed heavily to the ground, letting out a muffled groan as his face turned pale.
“Brother San!” Lucius rushed over to help him up.
“I’m fine…” Brother San said weakly. “Lucius, you… you need to be careful…”
Seeing her two brothers lying on the ground, Aelia felt her heart wrench in agony.
She knew she could no longer hesitate; she had to act quickly.
Taking a deep breath, she entrusted Luna to Qin Si and slowly stood up.
Her gaze became unwavering, like a drawn sword radiating a chilling brilliance.
“Carl, since you are so stubborn, don’t blame me for being ruthless!” Aelia's voice was cold and resolute, as if it came from the depths of hell.
She raised her hands, chanting an Ancient Magic Spell, and powerful Magical Energy surged from her body, forming a massive Magic Shield around her.
“Hmph, a dying struggle!” Carl sneered, waving his hand. The soldiers immediately launched their attack, countless blades and Magical Energy pouring toward Aelia.
Unfazed, Aelia controlled the Magic Shield to withstand all the assaults.
At the same time, she was searching for an opportunity to deliver a fatal blow to Carl.
Inside the cavern, flashes of blades and swords clashed, Magical Energy splattered everywhere amidst the chaos of explosions, Ailya's Roar, and screams.
Luna was tightly held in Qin Si's arms, her big eyes wide open as she watched everything unfold before her.
There was no trace of fear on her face; instead, a hint of excitement shone through.
“Aunt Cessy, Mother will definitely win!” Luna's voice was youthful yet firm, as if she were the commander of this battle.
Qin Si looked at Luna, filled with confusion.
Was this child really just an ordinary infant?
Why was she so calm, even showing a hint of anticipation?
At that moment, a dazzling light suddenly erupted from the Teleportation Array deep within the cavern, and a tall figure emerged from the magical formation.
It was a middle-aged man dressed in a magnificent Magic Robe. His face bore signs of fatigue, yet his eyes were filled with authority.
“Father!” Lucius exclaimed upon seeing the middle-aged man.
It was Leonard! He had appeared at this critical moment!
Leonard slowly surveyed his surroundings, and when his gaze fell upon Aelia, he asked, "Aelia, what are you doing?" His voice was deep and authoritative, reminiscent of a king questioning his subjects.
Aelia looked at Leonard, her voice trembling slightly. "Leonard, how dare you ask me that? You betrayed me, you betrayed our family. What right do you have to stand before me?"
At her words, Leonard fell silent for a moment before responding slowly, "Aelia, I know you have many misunderstandings about me, but everything I did was for the future of our family."
"For the future of our family?" Aelia scoffed. "Is betraying our marriage and seeking pleasure elsewhere really for the family's future?"
Leonard's expression darkened; he knew he could no longer hide the truth.
"Aelia, there are things you won't understand," he said in a low, hoarse voice. "For the glory of Magic Castle, I must make certain sacrifices."
"Sacrifices?" Aelia's voice rose in disbelief. "Am I not your family? Is Our Child not your family?"
Leonard fell silent again; he could not answer Aelia's questions.
"Enough!" Aelia's voice turned icy. "Leonard, I am utterly disappointed in you. From today on, I will sever all ties with you. I will take the Children and leave Magic Castle!"
With that, Aelia turned away, preparing to leave with the Children.
"Mother, where are we going?" Lucius asked.
Aelia did not respond; she simply held Luna tightly and walked toward the cave entrance without looking back.
Leonard watched Aelia's departing figure, wanting to stop her but unsure of how to speak.
At that moment, Luna suddenly extended her small hand and pointed at Leonard, saying in a childish voice, "Bad guy, you will definitely regret this!"
Leonard's heart jolted as he looked into Luna's clear yet profound eyes, sensing an ominous omen.
"Take her away, lock her up!"
With a wave of his hand, Karl signaled several soldiers to rush towards Luna and Qin Si.
Qin Si held Luna tightly, desperately trying to escape, but there was no way she could evade the soldiers' pursuit.
Just as the soldiers were about to seize Luna, Aelia suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"How dare you!" Aelia roared, turning and charging at the soldiers.
Leonard watched Aelia and Luna, his expression troubled.
"Father, are you really willing to sacrifice our family for an outsider?" Lucius said painfully.
Leonard's body jolted as he looked at Lucius.
"Lucius, you—"
Before Leonard could finish his sentence, a dark shadow burst forth from the depths of the mine, lunging towards Luna.
It was a massive Black Bat, its eyes blood-red and emanating a terrifying glow.
"Watch out!" Aelia exclaimed, wanting to stop the Black Bat, but it was already too late.
The Black Bat opened its gaping maw and lunged at Luna with a vicious bite.
"Luna!"
In a split second, Qin Si shoved Luna aside but was caught by the Black Bat's jaws around her neck.
Blood splattered as Qin Si's body fell limply to the ground.
"Aunt Cessy!" Luna cried out in a piercing wail.
The Black Bat bit down on Qin Si, but it did not stop there; it lunged once more towards Luna.
This time, no one could stop it.
Just as the Black Bat was about to sink its teeth into Luna, a sudden burst of golden light erupted from her body, sending the Black Bat flying.
The golden light grew stronger, gradually forming a massive Light Barrier that enveloped Luna.
Within the Light Barrier, Luna's body began to float gently. Her eyes were tightly shut, and a hint of a sacred expression graced her face.
"What... what is happening?" Leonard stared in astonishment at the unfolding scene.
Suddenly, Luna slowly opened her eyes. They sparkled with golden light, resembling a deity descending to the mortal realm.
"The seal... has been broken..." Luna's voice was ethereal and distant, as if it came from far beyond the horizon.
Though her voice was youthful, it carried an air of authority that made it difficult to look directly at her.
Luna slowly lifted her head and gazed at Leonard, a mysterious smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
"It’s been a long time... my... dear brother..."
