"A few people dressed in black spoke Miao Language and used short knives," Shen Tong replied.
Gu Master Granny's expression darkened as she silently returned to the cave, retrieving a small basket woven from vines. She said to the group, "Let's go; take me to see that person."
By the time they returned to Miao Qing's house, the sky was already bright.
"How is Lin Mingchang?" Shen Tong rushed to the bedside and saw Lin Mingchang's face pale and covered in cold sweat, his heart aching.
Gu Master Granny approached the bed, placing her hand on Lin Mingchang's pulse before unwrapping the bandages to examine the wound. The injury had turned completely black, with purple-black lines spreading around it like a spiderweb, looking particularly horrifying.
Shen Tong could clearly see bluish-purple energy emanating from the wound, spreading throughout Lin Mingchang's body.

For the entire day that followed, Gu Master Granny was busy preparing the antidote while Fang Zigui and Miao Qing assisted her. Ruan Xiaoshuang took advantage of the daylight to venture into the village to gather information.

"You mean..." Shen Tong's face flushed as she understood Gu Master Granny's implication.
Although Shen Tong and Lin Mingchang had been together for some time, their intimacy had been limited to holding hands, with no further contact.
Looking at the still unconscious Lin Mingchang on the couch, she realized the urgency of the situation and set aside her shyness.
The others tactfully stepped outside, giving Shen Tong and Lin Mingchang some privacy.
Shen Tong sat beside Lin Mingchang, opened the Porcelain Bottle, and poured some of the medicinal paste into her mouth. The paste was bitter with a peculiar fragrance.
Taking a deep breath, she slowly leaned down. The moment their lips touched, a rush of warmth flooded her cheeks.
