Time flew by like a fleeting horse, and before anyone realized, another year had passed. The young man who once struggled to survive in the corner of the market, Jiang Tao, had now become the authoritative Boss Jiang of Jiang Hai Electronic Service Co., Ltd. He had a virtuous wife, children, and was living a prosperous life.
However, life was not just about the soaring success in his career; it also involved countless seemingly trivial yet very real family matters. These little burdens were like sweet weights, forming an equally important part of Jiang Tao's life.
Early one morning, just as dawn broke, a chaotic scene unfolded in Jiang Tao's small courtyard.
“Jiang Xiaodong! You spilled milk all over your brother again!” Lin Wei's helpless voice came from the kitchen. She was feeding their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Xiaoya, who was babbling and trying to grab the spoon herself, while also keeping an eye on everything around her.
In the living room, nearly five-year-old Jiang Xiaodong was holding a half-full cup of milk that had spilled everywhere, grinning at their half-grown wolfdog. “Wei Feng, drink milk…”
“Woof woof!” Wei Feng shook his head, covered in milk, and whimpered pitifully.
“You little rascal!” Jiang Tao had just finished dressing and stepped out of the bedroom. Seeing this scene made him both amused and exasperated. He walked over and lifted his son by the back of his shirt. “How many times have I told you? You need to sit properly when drinking milk! Wei Feng doesn’t drink milk!”
“Daddy! Daddy hug!” Little Xiaoya, who had just learned to walk not long ago, saw her father and immediately dropped her spoon, reaching out her tiny hands for a hug.
Jiang Tao quickly set down his mischievous son and carefully picked up his daughter, planting a kiss on her soft little face. “Xiaoya, be good. Daddy will help your brother clean up first.”
Just as he managed to sit Xiaodong back in his chair and poured another half cup of milk for him, Xiaoya began to fidget again, reaching for the electrical wires on the table.
“Oh my little ancestor! Don’t touch that!” Jiang Tao swiftly moved the wires out of reach and checked the lamp’s interior with his mind—thankfully, only the outer casing was aging; the wiring inside was fine. “I need to reinforce all these old wires at home with Ability later,” he noted to himself.
Lin Wei finally finished feeding Xiaoya and quickly cleaned up the spilled milk from Xiaodong before bringing out her own breakfast. She hurriedly took a couple of bites. “Hurry up! Xiaodong has an event at kindergarten today; we can’t be late! I’ll go change his clothes first!”
Watching Lin Wei bustle around made Jiang Tao feel both amused and pained. Ever since they had two children—especially after Xiaoya was born—Lin Wei had hardly slept soundly. Although they had hired someone to help with cooking and cleaning, she always took care of the children herself.
“You’re working hard, Weiwei,” Jiang Tao said as he walked over and gently hugged her from behind.
Lin Wei shot him a glance. “Cut it out! Just make sure your son is fed well and get him to kindergarten!”
After a flurry of activity, Jiang Tao finally settled both kids down. He then hopped onto his well-maintained Changjiang 750 motorcycle and headed towards the processing workshop on the outskirts of the city.
As soon as he arrived at the workshop office and barely settled into his chair, Wang Hao rushed in with an anxious look on his face. “Brother Jiang, it’s bad! The batch of high-strength middle axle ball bearings we customized for the bicycle factory failed quality inspection; a small portion didn’t meet hardness standards! We need to rework them immediately! But they’re pushing us for delivery!”
This batch of ball bearings was one of Jiang Tao’s flagship products developed using Ability. Their hardness and wear resistance far exceeded ordinary products on the market and were specified parts for an export model by the bicycle factory with high profit margins but strict quality requirements.
