As the mechanisms continued to turn, the door panel of the small stone gate began to sink inward in circles from the position where the Tai Chi Xuantian Formation Token was embedded. The sight of the door opening was strikingly similar to the changes that occurred when the two tokens were combined yesterday. It seemed that the creator of this door had an enigmatic obsession with the seal module; a door and a token for opening it crafted with such intricacy made one wonder what kind of scene awaited inside. Before the stone door had fully opened, Mo Wen stood at the entrance, imagining the treasures that lay beyond. With such a large stone door, no one would expect that the true entrance was hidden in this inconspicuous corner.
"Clang!" The final sound echoed as the stone door swung open completely. Looking at the door before him, Mo Wen's jaw nearly dropped to the ground. He had initially thought that what he saw as the Small Door was the actual entrance, while the door now revealed was merely part of its imprint. It stood only half a person tall, barely allowing someone to crouch and squeeze through. Gazing into the dark opening, Mo Wen took out his Lighting Pearl, holding it in one hand while gripping his dagger in the other, crouching as he entered the cave. After his experience in the lava caves beneath Cloud Mist Forest, this had become his standard procedure whenever entering dark, unknown caverns.
Inside the cave, Mo Wen couldn't help but shiver; this cold felt eerily familiar, reminiscent of his experience in the misty mountains. He paused, a layer of cold sweat forming on his back. Taking a moment to collect himself, he exhaled and continued forward. The Lighting Pearl illuminated the narrow stone cave exceptionally well, allowing him to see several yards ahead. At that moment, there was nothing but stone walls surrounding him; it was as if those vanished stone modules had never existed at all.
After advancing for a quarter of an hour without reaching the end of the passageway, he heard a "crack" sound behind him. Stopping to discern its source, he quickened his pace; he realized that sound was from the stone door closing behind him. This time he sensed it clearly: stones were emerging from the surrounding walls to seal off the passageway. The speed at which it closed was astonishingly fast and would soon reach where he stood. Reality urged him to move faster as he began to jog; with half an hour passing, light emerged from the entrance ahead, prompting him to sprint toward it.
Standing in the corridor, he noticed that the stone path behind him had not yet completely sealed off. This was a mountain cavern with countless Lighting Pearls embedded in its ceiling, illuminating it brightly. The opulence he had imagined did not materialize; instead, at mid-height within the cave, besides those embedded Lighting Pearls, there were hanging stalactites reflecting a myriad of colors under their glow. This added a touch of grandeur to the cavern. The walls of the cave were adorned with stalactite formations as well. The corridor where Mo Wen found himself spiraled downward through these stone formations, leading to a low hill covered with stalagmites at the cave's bottom. Atop this hill stood a simple Siheyuan nestled among these stone pillars. A winding path extended from its entrance toward the cave wall; it surely connected to that grand stone gate outside which bore the plaque inscribed with "Gate of the Xuantian." In Mo Wen's mind, he struggled to reconcile the scene within with that magnificent stone gate outside.
