The surroundings were shrouded in a thick haze, and a figure moved slowly through the mist. Mo Wen had lost track of how long he had been walking on the bridge; time had become meaningless to him. He felt like a puppet, mechanically advancing forward. 0

What was once a gap several dozen feet wide could normally be crossed in a moment, but now he had forgotten how long he had been walking. The chilling mist rising from the chasm made his thoughts feel frozen. He looked like a statue standing on the bridge, and if it weren't for the fact that he could only move his feet slowly, he might have stood there and fallen asleep, remaining upright on the bridge. The light ahead grew dimmer, and a wave of drowsiness washed over him. 0

He bit his tongue to force himself to stay awake. The light ahead became clearer, and the stone tablet on his chest had not changed for a long time, continuously flashing with electric light at its original frequency. Using the light emitted by the tablet, he saw someone standing just a few steps away, facing the source of the light. "There are actually others here!" Mo Wen jolted, his mind suddenly becoming much clearer. However, he did not make any unnecessary movements; he was in no condition to prepare for battle or escape, as his body seemed beyond his control. 0

"Dead!" He sensed no life emanating from that figure's back; it was a clear sign of death. With this judgment, he gathered his courage and moved toward the silhouette. His curiosity was piqued—why had this person died here and remained standing even after death? Moreover, there was light flickering around the figure; if he wasn't mistaken, it must have a stone tablet similar to his own. After a quarter of an hour, Mo Wen finally managed to reach the figure's side. Through the flashes of light from his own stone tablet, he barely made out the owner of the back—a middle-aged man standing there as if asleep, his face lifelike without a trace of pain. Judging by his clothing, it was clear this man had been dead for quite some time. Mo Wen gasped in horror; had he not forced himself to stay awake moments ago, he might have ended up just like this middle-aged man. 0

He reached out and poked the middle-aged man's body with a finger. The corpse fell over easily, disintegrating into powder, leaving only clothing and personal belongings scattered across the bridge. He collected the storage bag left behind by the man and retrieved a stone tablet from it that resembled his own. It seemed his assumption was correct—there were at least two of these tablets. 0

After putting away the tablet, he continued moving forward. To avoid meeting the same fate as the middle-aged man, Mo Wen noticeably quickened his pace. As he sped up, his body began to lose its previous numbness and gradually became more agile; his mind also started to clear up. Although it was still difficult, improving his situation was something to be grateful for. 0

The light in the mist remained unchanged; Mo Wen felt like a ship at sea guided by a lighthouse as he moved forward. Having experienced the encounter with the dead man, he divided some of his attention to watch for changes around him. However, since then, he had discovered nothing else. In this foggy expanse, he was utterly alone; if it weren't for the light ahead, he would surely have lost his way. 0
