“Thud! Thud! Thud!” Listening to the sound of his own heartbeat, he felt as if his heart was about to explode in his chest. The temperature around him had dropped so low that it began to slow his movements. The Law of Power within him had already started to stir, eager to activate on its own, but he forcefully suppressed it. His stubborn nature began to surface; he could no longer afford to examine the stone tablet and was entirely focused on reaching the foot of Bei Yin Mountain. What should have been a day’s journey had already taken him two days. 0

There were no trees around; only cold stones surrounded him. Breathing heavily, he reached out a hand to lean against a nearby stone for a moment's rest. As soon as he did, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. In the darkness, he got back up and looked at the spot where the stone had been, now only a pile of rubble remained. He brushed off the dust from his clothes and turned to another stone, gently tapping it with his hand. The stone that had stood there shattered into fragments. 0

Clenching his teeth, he suppressed the restless Bloodline and Law within him. When he realized that his growing agitation was caused by the stirring of his Bloodline, he was indeed taken aback. It felt reminiscent of a Bloodline Attack from a Chimera; if there truly was a Chimera around, his situation would be dire. However, he did not sense any pressure from a Chimera and found no traces of its activity after searching around, which eased his mind. As long as there wasn’t a Chimera present, he wouldn’t be trapped in a desperate situation—this was his assessment of the current state. The reason he had dared to venture this way was that he had confirmed there were no Demon Beasts or Chimeras. 0

The surroundings were shrouded in thick, pitch-black fog. Through the mist, he could vaguely see Electric Snakes swimming in the clouds above, their flashes of lightning briefly illuminating the area around him. At this point, his vision had been compressed to about two yards despite having reached the Transcendence Stage, which significantly enhanced his eyesight. If it weren’t for this improvement, he might have had to rely solely on his senses to navigate forward. His senses had already been retracted; given his current pace, they were unnecessary now. He couldn’t afford to worry about missing any potential gains. 0

“Damn Old Freak Lu! What kind of useless map is this? Such a strange place with no annotations,” he cursed under his breath as he continued onward. The distraction helped ease some of his discomfort. After resting for a moment, he pressed on. 0

His heartbeat grew increasingly intense, and with it came rising agitation—a stark contrast to the cold silence surrounding him. At that moment, he felt like a cold exterior hiding an inner fire, ready to explode from within at any moment. Originally drawn here by the guidance of the stone tablet and a thirst for Ancient Artifacts, it had now turned into a test of endurance for him. If he couldn’t even withstand this situation, how could he claim strength? With this thought in mind, he kept moving forward. 0

A glimmer of light appeared in the darkness ahead; there seemed to be illumination up ahead, though his direction felt slightly off. He took out the stone tablet and held it with both hands, testing it in various directions—a sudden flash of inspiration struck him. Since the tablet reacted when approaching Bei Yin Mountain, it must point toward something specific. Sure enough, when he oriented himself toward the source of light, the electric sparks on the tablet flared up much more vigorously. After stowing away the tablet and finding his path forward, he felt significantly calmer; it seemed as if the temperature around him had risen considerably as well. 0
