Stepping out of the teahouse, Mo Wen glanced around and spotted the three servants from the Wang family not far away. A smirk crept onto his lips; it seemed the fish had taken the bait.
"Follow that kid!" Old Eight had been watching the entrance of the teahouse, and as soon as Mo Wen emerged, he saw him and trailed behind with two younger companions, keeping a careful distance.
Mo Wen had no grievances with Wang Tian from the Wang family. Even though the "Moro Three Young Masters" were notorious in Moro City, it was none of his business. He wasn't one to act as a hero for the common folk, but since they had delivered themselves right to his doorstep, there was no reason not to deal with them. For most of the day, Mo Wen wandered around the city, exploring here and there, completely ignoring the trio from the Wang family following him closely behind, nearly losing them several times.
On the other side, Wang Ba was feeling incredibly frustrated. Today, following the young master's orders, he went to Feng Ming Tower to secure a table. Upon reaching the third floor, he found it packed; there wasn't a single empty table. Just as he pondered how to report back to the young master, he spotted Mo Wen sitting alone at a table in a corner, looking like just a child. An idea struck him—he thought to intimidate the kid using their family's status and make him leave. To his surprise, that kid was as stubborn as they come; not only did he refuse to leave, but he also ended up injuring Wang Ba. Most importantly, it embarrassed his young master. He knew very well what kind of person his young master was—gifted and at only eighteen years old had already reached the Qi Binding Realm. In another decade or so, he would surely surpass their family head. This was why everyone in the Wang family doted on him so much.
The current head of the Wang family was Wang Tian's father, who was over two hundred years old and had entered the Transcendence Stage at twenty—a remarkable achievement for his time. Later on, he was recruited by the Official Family and followed the previous lord of Moro City. Although he had no notable achievements, he was skilled at ingratiating himself and won favor with the city lord. Relying on this connection, he established what is now the Wang family's foundation in Moro City. While not a major power in its own right, the Wang Family Head enjoyed respect due to his past ties with former city lords. Moreover, among the younger generation, Wang Tian showed exceptional talent and promise. His participation in Wu Hui was arranged by his family; it was through Wang Tian's father that they gained entry into the Official Family and thus their current strength. However, with two new city lords since then, their relationship with the city lord's residence had deteriorated significantly. If Wang Tian could achieve a good ranking in Wu Hui and be selected for training by the Empire, it would greatly enhance the family's reputation in Moro City. The combination of their background and Wang Tian's natural talent fostered his arrogant demeanor from a young age.
Looking up at the sun now sinking in the west, Mo Wen realized it was time to leave the city. The camp at Kao Shu Village lay at the west city gate, but he had no intention of returning there since he still had company following him. Instead, he exited through the east city gate and headed straight for the wilderness outside.
After walking for about two hours outside the city gate, dusk began to settle in. The official campsite was over an hour away from where he stood now. Mo Wen stopped and found a cave nearby in which to spend the night. To ensure that the Wang family's servants could find him easily, he lit a bonfire outside the cave and started roasting meat over it.
"That kid really plans to leave Moro City overnight and intends to stay here," Old Eight observed as he watched Mo Wen's actions; it seemed clear that Mo Wen knew their young master was not someone to be trifled with. "You should hurry back and report this to our young master!"
