"Everything that has changed in the village today is due to you. The revival of our clan is now within reach. As my younger brother said, the strong must empower themselves. Even if you had done nothing before, just based on this statement, you are undoubtedly a Noble Person of our clan. Your words about the strong empowering themselves made the Old Man realize something. Perhaps our ancestors left that legacy with guidance from a wise person, or perhaps it was to lull the clan members into thinking that only with the appearance of a Noble Person would our clan have a chance for revival, fearing that future generations would dig too deep into the past. Regardless, please accept this item as a way to fulfill the wishes of our ancestors from tens of thousands of years ago." Since he took over as Village Chief, he had been dedicated to finding the "Noble Person" mentioned in the ancestral teachings, which led to his early travels and eventually meeting the now-deceased Master of Deduction. It was only at this moment that he understood why previous Village Chiefs often ventured out; they were all searching for the "Noble Person," just like him.
"The Junior cannot accept this. Since it is something left by our Noble ancestors, it must be extraordinary. Keeping it within the clan would be more beneficial than handing it over to me."
"This box has been studied by every Elder throughout generations, but there have been no results. Moreover, since it is an Ancestral Instruction, we cannot disregard it. Besides, keeping this item within the clan is always a risk. If our enemies from back then are still alive and trace this item back to us, I worry that our clan may not thrive because of it but rather perish because of it. Alas, consider this as helping my clan."
"If that's the case, then I shall graciously accept it." Mo Wen took the wooden box and stored it away. Although the Village Chief's actions seemed to divert potential trouble, he had made his intentions clear. Furthermore, he was currently alone; even if those who nearly wiped out the the Li came looking for him later, it was better than having the entire village slaughtered.
"On behalf of the entire clan, I thank you, young brother. Also, do not mention today's events in public." The Village Chief bowed solemnly. Throughout their conversation, the Old Village Chief had not mentioned what the Master said before his death; however, one thing he was certain of was that the current He Er Gou was not who he appeared to be—such a casual name could not belong to someone so mysterious.
...
The two exited the secret chamber and arrived in the main hall. Mo Wen did not linger and bid farewell to everyone.
"How did it go?" As soon as Mo Wen stepped out of the ancestral hall, several Elders hurriedly surrounded the Village Chief.
"It no longer matters whether it's true or false; let us old folks take today's matters to our graves." The Village Chief sighed deeply, feeling a significant weight lifted off his shoulders. From now on, both the matter of the Noble Person and the mysterious object in that box could be erased from the ancestral teachings. The future lineage of the the Li would be simplified: their ancestors traveled here and found this place beautiful and chose to settle down.
"Understood, Clan Leader!"

There was still more than a month until Lian Yun's Wu Hui gathering; however, traveling from Kao Shu Village to the nearest Moro City would take about a month. Therefore, they needed to set off soon. At the village entrance, three beast carts were loaded with goods, with several children sitting atop them. The demon beasts originally trained for pulling carts had already been hunted down by Bai Xu; later on, a Hunting Party went into the mountains and brought back three more.
Today was Er Gou Brother's departure day; everyone in the village came out to see him off. The atmosphere of farewell was surprisingly light-hearted as several sisters-in-law playfully reminded their younger brother to bring back a wife next time or at least introduce him to one if he couldn't find someone himself. Mo Wen also took this opportunity to remind them to keep innovating so that when he returned, they could enjoy Steamed Chiyou.
After bidding farewell to everyone, the group began their journey. This time, due to the decade-long Wu Hui gathering, thirty people from the village were sent out along with a few children for exposure to the outside world.
