Since signing the Co-habitation Agreement, the atmosphere in Dormitory 412 has indeed undergone a subtle change.
The Agreement acts like an invisible barrier, delineating the boundaries of two entirely different worlds, yet it has also created a remarkable balance. Nezha no longer plays video games loudly late at night, and Ao Bing no longer criticizes Nezha's lifestyle choices. They have begun to respect each other's space; although there are still occasional minor frictions, overall, a sense of peace is spreading in this once hostile dormitory.
More importantly, the clause in the Agreement stating "we must do at least one thing together each week" is quietly drawing the two closer.
On a weekend morning, sunlight streams through the gaps in the curtains, casting a warm golden hue over the entire dormitory. Nezha opens his eyes and inadvertently glances at Ao Bing on the opposite bed. To his surprise, Ao Bing, who usually wakes up early, is still fast asleep, his blue hair scattered across the pristine white pillow, and his long eyelashes casting soft shadows in the sunlight.
Nezha gets out of bed quietly, careful not to make any noise that might wake Ao Bing. According to the Agreement, weekends do not require strict adherence to schedules, but seeing Ao Bing sleep in—a rare sight for someone so meticulous—stirs an inexplicable softness within Nezha.
He tiptoes to the bathroom, deliberately keeping the sound of his toothbrush to a minimum. After washing his face and stepping out, he finds Ao Bing still peacefully asleep, breathing evenly and calmly. Nezha glances at the clock; it's already eight-thirty. By Ao Bing's usual habits, he should have been up by now to start his daily study routine.
"Could he be sick?" A flicker of concern crosses Nezha's mind as he approaches Ao Bing's bedside and leans slightly to observe his complexion closely.
At that moment, Ao Bing suddenly opens his eyes.
In that instant when their gazes meet, both are momentarily stunned.
A hint of surprise flashes in Ao Bing's eyes before he quickly regains his composure, though his cheeks betray him with a slight blush. "What are you doing?" His voice is hoarse from just waking up.
"Uh..." Nezha straightens up hurriedly, scratching his head awkwardly. "I saw you sleeping for so long and got a bit worried that you might be sick."
Ao Bing sits up and instinctively brushes his slightly disheveled hair. "I'm fine; I just stayed up late reading last night."
"Oh..." Nezha sighed in relief, then suddenly remembered something. "Wait, did you stay up late last night? What about me? I was gaming too!"
Ao Bing chuckled softly. "Do you think that's why I stayed up? Those earplugs couldn't block out your 'Battle Cry' at all."
Nezha felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him, wishing he could disappear into a crack in the ground. "I'm sorry! I thought you wouldn't hear me with the headphones on!"
"It's fine," Ao Bing shook his head. "It's the weekend anyway; we can sleep in."
Seeing Ao Bing's forgiving attitude, a warm feeling surged within Nezha. The old Ao Bing would have sternly criticized him for breaking the Agreement, but now he chose to be understanding. This subtle change stirred an unusual flutter in Nezha's heart.
"By the way," Ao Bing suddenly spoke up, "today is Saturday, and according to the Agreement, we should do something together. Do you have any plans?"
Nezha's eyes lit up. "Of course! I've had it all planned out!" He smiled mysteriously. "But it's a surprise; I'll tell you once you're done freshening up."
Ao Bing raised an eyebrow. "I hope it's nothing too outrageous."
"Don't worry, it's completely legal and compliant, and I guarantee you'll love it!" Nezha patted his chest confidently.
Ao Bing shook his head slightly, but the corners of his mouth lifted involuntarily, hinting at a trace of anticipation.
