"I can't even imagine living in a house in the Third Ring of the capital," Liu Ying said, patting Wang Shun Yuan on the shoulder, her eyes conveying a sense of helplessness.
As they spoke, Jiang Chen and the others arrived in front of a restaurant.
"This is the place. Let's go in," Wang Shun Yuan said with a smile.
Inside a private room of the restaurant, six girls were chattering away. When Jiang Chen and the others pushed the door open, their voices abruptly ceased, and all eyes turned toward them. Jiang Chen and his friends also looked at the girls.
"Xiao Lin, these two are my roommates. This is Liu Ying, and this is Gao Kang. And this is my childhood friend, Jiang Chen," Wang Shun Yuan introduced with a grin.
Jiang Chen had met Huang Lin in his previous life, so he recognized her immediately. However, it was Liu Ying and Gao Kang's first time seeing Huang Lin, and they couldn't help but scrutinize her closely.
Huang Lin wasn't the type to be stunningly beautiful; if one had to describe her, she was graceful and gentle, with two dimples that appeared when she smiled. Jiang Chen had a good impression of Huang Lin since she had been warm and welcoming during his stay at her home in his past life, leaving a lasting impression on him.

Huang Lin smiled gently at Jiang Chen and the others before introducing her close friends. Among them was a girl who dressed fashionably and was the most beautiful among Huang Lin's friends. This girl was named Chen Renjing, Huang Lin's childhood friend. Although they came from the same village, Chen Renjing's parents later became successful and bought a house in the Second Ring. As a result, she had become quite the princess.
Due to her parents' excessive pampering, Chen Renjing had always been rebellious; she didn't get into college and ultimately only earned a diploma abroad thanks to her parents' financial support. After returning home, she didn't work but spent her days frequenting various bars in the capital. However, she was loyal to Huang Lin and supported her during her wedding despite believing that Wang Shun Yuan wasn't worthy of Huang Lin. "Chen Renjing, are you eyeing someone?" Huang Lin joked as she noticed Chen Renjing looking at Jiang Chen and the others.
"My standards aren't that low; there isn't even one handsome guy here—it's boring," Chen Renjing replied nonchalantly.
"Handsome guys can't be eaten as food! Didn't you say last time that you were heartbroken by handsome guys and wouldn't date one again? You wanted to find an honest man instead. I think both of Shun Yuan's roommates and childhood friends are honest men," Huang Lin laughed.
Upon hearing "honest men," Jiang Chen and his friends exchanged strange glances; something felt off about it. The term "honest man" didn't seem like a compliment.
"Honest men won't fill your stomach either! If I'm not looking for handsome guys, I should at least find someone rich. Lin Lin, I'm not like you; I can't endure hardship. Now that you're married without even a house—sigh," Chen Renjing sighed deeply, clearly looking down on Wang Shun Yuan from the bottom of her heart.
Her words created an awkward atmosphere in the room.
"Chen Renjing, I actually think it's most important for two people to work hard together," Huang Lin said cheerfully. "There's a line from a movie that says milk will be there, bread will be there; as long as you work hard, your wishes will come true."
