As Nezha watched Ao Bing walk away, a sudden wave of inexplicable emptiness washed over him. He had achieved his goal—driving away that annoying roommate—and could now enjoy his space freely. Yet, for some reason, this sense of victory was not as sweet as he had imagined. 0

Irritated, Nezha turned off the music, and the dorm fell into an abrupt silence that only heightened his unease. He grabbed another can of beer and took a long swig before opening his computer, deciding to fill this strange void with gaming. 0

Hours later, Nezha finally grew tired of playing. He collapsed onto his bed, his head feeling a bit heavy—the effects of the beer were starting to kick in. The room was a mess: snack wrappers littered the floor, beer cans were scattered haphazardly, and there were crumbs from chips all over the bed. 0

Checking the time, Nezha noticed it was nearing midnight, and Ao Bing still hadn’t returned. A pang of guilt struck him—perhaps he had indeed gone too far. Although he disliked Ao Bing’s rigid lifestyle, kicking him out of their shared space felt rather unkind. 0

With a sigh, Nezha forced himself to sit up and began cleaning up the mess. He tossed the snack wrappers and beer cans into the trash bin, wiped the crumbs off the bed with a tissue, and even used wet wipes to clean the stains on the floor. These actions were almost unbelievable for Nezha under normal circumstances, but at that moment, he did so with surprising diligence. 0

Once everything was tidied up, Nezha lay back down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. The dorm was now neat again, but Ao Bing still hadn’t come back. Nezha couldn’t help but worry: where could that bookworm have gone at this hour? The library should have closed by now. 0

Just as Nezha was lost in thought, he heard a faint click of the door lock turning. Ao Bing stepped inside, looking somewhat tired but still maintaining his usual composure. 0

"You’re back," Nezha said dryly, unsure how to face the roommate he had just expelled. 0

Ao Bing nodded, glancing around the dorm with mild surprise at its newfound cleanliness. He looked at Nezha, a subtle smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as if expressing gratitude. 0

"The library closes at ten," Ao Bing explained voluntarily. "After that, I went to the 24-hour study room." 0

"Oh..." Nezha didn’t know what else to say and scratched his head awkwardly. "Um, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that." 0

Ao Bing paused for a moment, seemingly taken aback by Nezha’s apology. He set down his backpack and sat on the edge of his bed. "I was also at fault. Perhaps I was too strict about the rules." 0

The two fell into a brief silence, the atmosphere somewhat awkward but not as tense as before. 0

"Ahem, well," Nezha cleared his throat, breaking the silence, "I think we can find a compromise. After all, we still have to live together for a week." 0

Ao Bing nodded. "I agree. Perhaps we can establish some rules that both of us can accept, rather than simply adopting the dormitory regulations." 0

"Good idea!" Nezha perked up. "For example, I can promise not to play music loudly anymore, but you have to allow me to play games occasionally. How does that sound?" 0

"That works, but please wear headphones after eleven at night to avoid disturbing our rest," Ao Bing added. 0

"Deal! And I will try to keep my area tidy, but you can't move my things around, even if they look messy." 0

"Well..." Ao Bing hesitated for a moment. "As long as it doesn't affect the cleanliness of the common area, I can accept that." 0
