Nezha scoffed dismissively, but upon seeing Ao Bing's serious expression, he reluctantly stood up and walked to the bathroom. He quickly rinsed the soles of his shoes with water and wiped them down with a towel.
"Is this good enough for you, Mr. Clean Freak?" Nezha returned to the room, holding his shoes up in front of Ao Bing with a tone full of provocation.
Ao Bing glanced at the shoes and nodded slightly. "Thank you for your cooperation." His tone remained calm, but there was a hint of an emotion in his eyes that Nezha couldn't quite understand.
Nezha put on his shoes, grabbed his phone and wallet, and prepared to head out. "Aren't you having breakfast?" he asked casually, inexplicably concerned about this annoying roommate.
"I've already eaten," Ao Bing replied. "I usually go to the cafeteria at six-thirty."
"Six-thirty?!" Nezha's eyes widened in surprise. "The cafeteria opens that early?"
"Of course, to accommodate the early-rising students and faculty," Ao Bing said, a subtle air of superiority in his tone. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and shouldn't be overlooked."
"Suit yourself, bookworm," Nezha muttered as he opened the door and stepped outside, deliberately leaving the dorm key behind. After all, he thought, Ao Bing would definitely be in the dorm; there was no need to carry around something as bothersome as a key.
Once Nezha left, Ao Bing let out a long sigh and surveyed the mess that Nezha had created in their dorm room. The bed was in disarray, clothes scattered everywhere, and both the desk and floor were littered with trash and dirt. This chaos was torture for someone like Ao Bing, who was accustomed to a tidy environment.
"This is just the first day..." Ao Bing murmured to himself, furrowing his brow. "How am I going to get through this week?"
After hesitating for a moment, he finally stood up and began to clean the room. Even though he knew that Nezha was responsible for the mess, he couldn't stand living in an untidy space.
Ao Bing first picked up all the trash from the floor and sorted it into the garbage bin. Then he carefully mopped up the footprints and dirt left by Nezha. Next, he tidied up Nezha's messy bed, folding the crumpled blanket neatly. Finally, he hung up Nezha's discarded clothes in the wardrobe.
Throughout the entire process, Ao Bing's movements were gentle and precise, as if he were performing a delicate surgery. By the time he finished all the cleaning, nearly an hour had passed.
Ao Bing looked at the tidy dormitory and let out a slight sigh of relief, but he knew that as soon as Nezha returned, this order would soon be disrupted. He sat back down at his desk and continued reading, though his mind was no longer as focused as before.
Around noon, Nezha returned to the dormitory and was stunned by the sight before him. "What the hell happened to my stuff?"
"I organized it for you," Ao Bing replied without looking up, his fingers tapping away at the keyboard as he completed a paper. "Your clothes are in the wardrobe, your books and stationery are in the storage box on the desk, and other miscellaneous items are in the drawer of the bedside table."
Nezha hurried over to the wardrobe, pulled open the door, and indeed found that his once-messy clothes had been neatly hung or folded, sorted by color and type.
"Hey, who gave you permission to touch my things?" Nezha turned around to question him, his face full of discontent. "Do you know this is an invasion of privacy?"
Ao Bing finally looked up, adjusting his glasses. "I was just trying to keep the dormitory tidy. Besides, I didn't go through your personal items; I merely put away what was visible."
"But this is my territory!" Nezha pointed to his bed and the area around his desk. "I can arrange things however I want; it’s none of your business!"
