The originally gentle red light from the sun gradually became blinding. Mo Wen knew it was time for him to set off. He took out some food and had a quick bite before picking up Xiao Hei and climbing down from the tree. The tall and dense canopy blocked the morning sunlight, leaving the forest somewhat dim, but it did not significantly affect visibility. After removing the Symbol Array, he headed towards the direction of the glowing cave he had seen last night. 0

In the afternoon, as he gradually approached Stone Mountain, the surrounding trees began to thin out, and their heights decreased. About five miles away from Stone Mountain, there were no tall trees left; instead, there were only fire-resistant trees about four to five meters high. As he got closer to Stone Mountain, only sparse shrubs, barely reaching a person's height, remained. 0

Standing at the foot of Stone Mountain and looking up, it towered about five or six hundred meters high. In this forest, mountains of such height were everywhere. The trees around it had already withered, and waves of heat emanated from the mountain. This was a mountain formed after a lava eruption, and there was certainly no Chimera here. However, just to be safe, Mo Wen carefully checked his surroundings to confirm there was no danger before preparing to climb. 0

Three sides of Stone Mountain were bare rock walls, with only this spot accessible for climbing. However, looking at the path ahead posed a challenge for Mo Wen; the massive stones made climbing difficult. While he was pondering how to ascend, he noticed that Xiao Hei had already made it to the top of Stone Mountain. The closer they got to Stone Mountain, the more excited Xiao Hei seemed, as if something ahead was drawing its attention. Watching Xiao Hei scamper up the mountain made Mo Wen feel a bit embarrassed as he hurried after it. Occasionally, Xiao Hei would look back as if checking whether Mo Wen was following. 0

The two of them wove through the rocks together. After overcoming the initial obstacles, the remaining path became much easier. However, as they progressed further up the mountain, the slope grew steeper, and Xiao Hei slowed down. Eventually, they reached a stone wall beneath which they were now close to halfway up the mountain. The light they had seen last night emanated from a cave above this wall, which stood about eighty or ninety meters high. Looking at the wall made Mo Wen feel helpless; from a distance, it hadn’t seemed so imposing. The entire surface was smooth and devoid of any handholds; it appeared that climbing this wall would require considerable effort. 0

As Mo Wen contemplated how to scale this stone wall, he turned to see that Xiao Hei had already moved around to a nearby side and was jumping up along a pile of rubble, standing on a rock while looking back at Mo Wen with what seemed like disdain in its little eyes. Once again feeling belittled by Xiao Hei's expression, Mo Wen decided not to worry about his pride; exploring the cave was far more important. 0

After about an incense stick's worth of time, he stood before the cave entrance and felt the heat wafting towards him—it was clear that this place was a Melted Cave left behind by volcanic activity. Before he could conduct any further exploration, Xiao Hei had already darted into the cave and disappeared into the darkness. Seeing Xiao Hei vanish into the shadows prompted Mo Wen to quickly squeeze himself inside as well; the cave seemed tailor-made for him as he maneuvered sideways without any extra space to turn around. 0

The Melted Cave had smooth walls that appeared polished and slanted downward continuously. After crawling forward for about three hundred meters, Mo Wen felt that the cave ahead was widening. He could also sense that Xiao Hei was not far ahead of him. Regret washed over him—he should have prepared his Lighting Pearl before entering; now he was in complete darkness and unable to see anything. He wanted to retrieve his Lighting Pearl but found himself tightly wedged between stone walls with it stored in his waist pouch. For now, he could only rely on his senses to move forward. 0
