"Life and death are two extremes, interdependent; when life reaches its peak, death follows, and when death reaches its peak, life returns. The duality of Yin and Yang is similarly intertwined; when Yin reaches its extreme, Yang emerges, and when Yang reaches its extreme, Yin manifests. This is known as Tai Chi," Mo Wen expressed his insights. Before Old Lu could respond, he took out the Transcendence Pill and swallowed it. He needed to seize this hard-earned opportunity.
Calm and composed, Mo Wen began to contemplate the principles of Yin and Yang, quickly entering a deep state of understanding. At that moment, he saw two points of Law, one black and one white, intertwining and rotating around each other. During this process, a new Law of Power began to emerge. However, the two points of Law seemed uneasy with this change and started to rotate in reverse. As they did so, the Yin and Yang began to repel each other, their rotational range expanding, creating flashes of light akin to electricity. From these flashes, Mo Wen sensed the power of destruction. Immersed in various wondrous transformations, he failed to notice that the energy of the Nine Cauldrons Nine Tripods within his Dan Tian, which had originally fused into one, began to disperse to either side. A faint boundary appeared in the center of his Dan Tian, indistinct and blurry.
After a long time, Mo Wen finally emerged from his contemplation. He felt as though the world before him had changed; he felt increasingly connected to everything around him. Moreover, Old Lu's face was nearly pressed against his own.
"Mo, you suddenly shouted out loud and startled Old Man! Then you went silent; Old Man didn't even get a chance to speak! I'm a bit annoyed now—why don’t you hurry up and make something delicious to appease me?" Old Lu had suffered during this time; Mo Wen had been sitting there like a lost soul for days on end. Forget about new dishes; even cooking had fallen on Old Lu's shoulders. Although Mo Wen didn’t need to eat while cultivating, Xiao Hei's appetite was considerable, and that round creature seemed dissatisfied with his cooking, making faces as if it were hard to swallow.
"I appreciate your efforts during these days!" Mo Wen clasped his hands in gratitude. He knew that without Old Lu's support, he wouldn’t have dared to enter such a state of contemplation. He realized he hadn’t eaten much lately and was indeed feeling hungry now.
"Stop with the formalities; just hurry up and cook something tasty."
Reluctantly, Mo Wen began preparing a meal. Old Lu savored flavors he hadn’t tasted in a long time, while Xiao Hei appeared excited as well, discarding the beast bones it had previously gnawed on.
...
"Mo, you should be at the mid-stage of the Heavenly Unity Realm by now," Old Lu said contentedly as he lounged on a tree stump, picking his teeth after a hearty meal.
"Yes, I've reached the mid-stage. The Yin Yang Principle is incredibly profound; it encompasses more variations than many other Laws I’ve contemplated before and is much harder to grasp. It will likely take a long time before I can fully integrate it into my being," Mo Wen replied while sitting cross-legged and sharing his feelings with Old Lu. Meanwhile, Xiao Hei continued enjoying its share of food.
"The Law of Power is inherently mysterious; especially so for the Yin Yang Principle, which is said to be the source of all laws. Don’t rush it—take your time to comprehend it deeply," Old Lu replied lazily, primarily due to having eaten too much.
In the days that followed, Mo Wen did not hastily consume the remaining Transcendence Pill but instead focused on continuously understanding the Yin Yang Principle in hopes of achieving deeper insights for future integration. He also practiced his Sword Technique; after all, three days without practice would make one rusty. It had been quite some time since he last trained with his sword, and he felt his technique becoming unfamiliar—a source of frustration for him.
