As the mist was absorbed, the vibrant tree gradually deepened in color, shifting from Blood Red to a shade of purple. At the tips of its branches, clusters of Blood Red flowers began to bloom, while the surrounding blood mist converged towards the tree, being drawn in and continuously absorbed. As the mist was consumed, the flowers on the branches started to wither, giving way to numerous fruits. When the mist receded, it left behind a ground littered with white bones, and the once Blood Red tree transformed into mist, joining the others as they flowed towards the central tree. Once all the mist was absorbed, the fruits of the Tree emitted a series of red glows, appearing ripe and ready. 0

“Wait here,” said Old Lu before vanishing from the mountaintop. In an instant, he reappeared before the Red Tree, swiftly plucking its fruits, and then he was back at the mountaintop again. 0

“Old Lu, how did you do that?” Mo Wen marveled at Old Lu's speed. 0

“Old Man just walked up to that tree and picked the fruits, then walked back. It’s as simple as that,” Old Lu replied, seemingly puzzled by Mo Wen's question. 0

“Your speed is incredible!” 0

“You’ll be faster than me one day.” Old Lu’s face turned pale at the thought, but then he remembered that Mo Wen was still just a child. 0

“This is Red Spirit Fruit. You’re lucky to have found it. After eating it, just take a nap and you’ll be fine. These Red Spirit Fruits are enough for you to reach Refining Spirit Realm perfection.” Back at the small wooden cabin, Old Lu took out the freshly acquired Red Spirit Fruits. 0

Mo Wen knew about Red Spirit Fruits; they were top-tier supplementary materials for Martial Realm and Refining Spirit Realm cultivation—rare and hard to come by. However, his knowledge was limited to that. Looking at the eighteen fist-sized Red Spirit Fruits before him, he could hardly contain his eagerness to devour them but held back. He sensed that Old Lu had more to say and decided to wait until he gathered enough information before consuming them. 0

“Old Lu, is there anything I need to pay attention to when taking these Red Spirit Fruits?” 0

“Well,” Old Lu began, “I was going to tell you this anyway. The Red Tree blooms and bears fruit once every thousand years. The older the Red Tree, the better the effects of its Red Spirit Fruits. From my judgment, this Red Tree is at least ten thousand years old. If you don’t pick the fruits promptly after they ripen, they will fall off and disappear with sunrise; it seems that the Red Tree doesn’t rely on these fruits for reproduction. There’s nothing special to note about consuming Red Spirit Fruits; usually, those who take them will just have a dream.” 0

“Does each fruit guarantee a dream?” 0

“Not exactly; it depends on chance. If you dream, it means you’ve succeeded. For something like this Red Spirit Fruit, your chances of entering a dream are about fifty percent. The highest level of Refining Spirit can achieve nine dreams at nine levels; that’s also the peak attainable through Refining Spirit Nerve. After consuming these fruits, you should be able to reach perfection.” 0

“So if I don’t dream, does that mean I’ve failed?” 0

“Not really; it just means you haven’t succeeded but also haven’t failed. After all, there are still benefits from it; how significant those benefits are is uncertain.” 0

After asking Old Lu a few more questions, Mo Wen returned to his room to begin his cultivation. 0

Once prepared, he took out the box containing the Red Spirit Fruits. From Old Lu’s explanation, there wasn’t a clear guideline on how many should be consumed at once; Old Lu suggested one fruit at a time. However, Mo Wen decided to take two at once since each fruit only had a fifty percent chance of inducing a dream. He needed a hundred percent chance and wanted to grow stronger quickly. 0

Lying on his bed, he devoured both Red Spirit Fruits and soon fell asleep… 0
