Around them, a crowd had gathered to watch the spectacle. When they saw Young Master Qian arrive with a group of burly men, many thought he was making a big deal out of nothing by targeting a young girl. Only those who had witnessed Lin Yin's grace at Yan Gui Tower last night secretly felt anxious for Young Master Qian; with so many people against her, it was unlikely they would be her match. "What are you all standing around for? Get him!" Young Master Qian shouted in fury. Initially wanting to show some mercy, he now felt only rage.
The group of burly men snapped back to reality and rushed at Lin Yin with their extendable batons.
Jiang Chen and Liu Chaowu stepped aside, leaving Lin Yin alone to face the ten or so thugs.
"I haven't had a chance to stretch my muscles today, so I'll use you all for practice," Lin Yin said with a smile. No matter how many there were, they were just a bunch of rabble with no skills—only brute strength.
In a blur of movement like a phantom, within ten seconds, all the thugs lay on the ground moaning in pain.
"If I see you again, it won't be a hospital visit; it'll be the crematorium," Lin Yin coldly remarked before leaving with Jiang Chen.
The onlookers were left dumbfounded.
Especially Chu Mei and Wang Duoduo, whose mouths hung open wide enough to fit an egg. They could hardly believe that Miss Lin was so formidable. What was even more unbelievable was how someone as capable as Lin Yin could possibly be under Jiang Chen's influence.
"This Miss Lin is truly impressive; she's way better than those competitors from the Martial Arts Competition earlier," Chu Mei remarked in awe.
"It's strange; how could such a girl be so submissive to Jiang Chen? Does he really have some kind of talent?" Chu Mei pondered further.
"Even if he has talent, there's no way Miss Lin would fall for him. She must have lost her mind!" Wang Duoduo scoffed.
"Maybe she's just too innocent," Chu Mei speculated.
"Innocent? I think she's anything but that! She's clearly got issues if she likes Jiang Chen and calls him 'Master.' It's shameless! Mom, after what happened to Young Master Qian, I believe Manager Qian won't let this go; he'll definitely seek revenge," Wang Duoduo sneered.
"Although Jiang Chen can be clueless at times, he's still your Aunt Zhou's godson. I promised Aunt Zhou I'd take good care of him while he's in Dao City. If he really is in danger, we can't just stand by," Chu Mei said pensively.
"Why bother? Just look at him now; he acts like he's someone important with that arrogant attitude. If he likes Showing Off, let him go ahead and pretend; we don't need to get involved," Wang Duoduo huffed disdainfully.
