Looking at Mo Wen in the cauldron, Old Lu's face was a kaleidoscope of emotions, as vibrant as it could be, because the little brat inside had actually fallen asleep. Wasn't he supposed to be in agony? Why did he look so comfortable? Had something gone wrong? After confirming once more, Old Lu assured himself that nothing was amiss. 0

A day later, the child in the cauldron woke up. 0

"Feeling good?" 0

"Yeah, but I'm hungry." 0

"Go ahead and eat." The old man pointed to the meat in the cauldron. 0

"Ah! My meat is all cooked through! Old Lu, you said it wouldn't get done!" the child screamed. 0

"Look before you speak!" Old Lu shot a sideways glance at Mo Wen. 0

He fished out a piece of meat and inspected it, confirming it wasn't from his own body. Then he looked at Old Lu and finally understood why the old man had insisted he wash himself thoroughly before. If he had known it would turn out like this, he would have scrubbed himself clean. 0

"Haha!" Seeing the child's face about to cry, Old Lu burst into hearty laughter. 0

"Is there anything else?" 0

"Nope." 0

"Then I won't eat." 0

"If you don't eat, you'll go hungry. You'll eventually have to eat," Old Lu replied. 0

... 0

"Eat up, don’t waste it. This is flavorful, good stuff," two hours later, Old Lu leaned over the cauldron, grinning as he watched the child inside. 0

"When can I come out?" 0

"According to the book, you have to finish everything in there and drink all the broth before you can come out." 0

"I didn’t see that in the book." 0

"That's because Old Man didn't give it to you." 0

"Weren't you just saying there were only incantations and prescriptions?" 0

"The Old Man never said that. Enough with the chatter; most of the medicinal effects are in the broth. Soaking in it will only let you absorb about twenty percent at most. You need to finish everything to absorb all the effects." 0

Hearing this from Old Lu, Mo Wen fell silent. He believed what Old Lu said was true and began to eat the meat from the broth. Watching the child in the cauldron, Old Lu nodded in satisfaction. 0

"Young man! Down that pot of broth!" Laughter from outside echoed cheerfully. 0

Three days had passed in the blink of an eye, and Mo Wen no longer felt as comfortable in the cauldron as he had at first. His acupoints began to ache, and according to Old Lu, this was due to blocked meridians. The only thing he could do was endure, silently reciting the mantra to calm his mind. In the cauldron, he ate when hungry and drank when thirsty, but time seemed to drag on. Initially, he managed to hold back his cries, but gradually he found himself gritting his teeth in pain, which eventually turned into howls. Countless times he fainted from the agony, only to awaken again in torment. 0

Outside the cauldron, Old Lu kept a close watch on the situation inside. To enhance the effect, he placed a lid on the cauldron on the sixth day. Now it was the tenth day, and according to the texts, it should have been completed yesterday. However, today there was still no sign of movement from the child inside. What if something had gone wrong? Despite his worries, Old Lu decided to wait. 0

“Old Lu, are you planning to steam me until I’m cooked?” 0

“How do you feel?” Without bothering to address Mo Wen's cheeky remark, Old Lu lifted the lid of the cauldron to check on him. 0

“I can’t really describe it, but right now I just feel hungry.” 0

Old Lu circled around Mo Wen and nodded. “Hmm, not bad. It seems to be working after all. I need to ponder this further.” With that, he headed into a small wooden cabin. 0

“After you eat, go soak in the hot spring on the back mountain to stabilize your foundation,” Old Lu called back without looking. 0

After finishing the roasted meat that Old Lu had prepared over the fire pit, Mo Wen made his way to the back mountain. He was already quite familiar with the hot spring there. Seeing it reminded him of the Demon Beast that Old Lu had mentioned. Although Old Lu claimed that the Demon Beast had vacated its cave for him, Mo Wen couldn’t shake off the image of Old Lu devouring meat. He suspected that this Demon Beast had likely gone into Old Lu's Temple of the Five Viscera for training. 0

Time flew by, and it seemed like half a year had passed. Mo Wen once again drank down two cauldrons of soup and endured increasingly intense pain each time. Finally, he completed Refining Body; his Refining Body Realm was now perfected, allowing him to enter the next realm. According to Old Lu, he was now considered an ordinary person qualified for further cultivation. 0

Old Lu explained that Refining Body was part of unlocking one’s physical potential. The human body held immense potential; the higher one developed it in the early stages, the further they could go later on. Mo Wen had taken a solid first step, but many more steps lay ahead. Only by ensuring each step was firm could he hope to advance among the elite of this world—though what exactly constituted that elite remained unclear to him. 0
