As Yun Zheng stepped out, he saw the two of them cuddling together, and his expression darkened. He cleared his throat loudly. 0

Yun Li and Jiang Shiyu immediately separated, both feeling a bit awkward as they glanced at Yun Zheng. 0

Fearing that Yun Zheng would say something about Yun Li, Jiang Shiyu quickly explained, "Uncle, I was the one who hugged Hao Hao just now." 0

Yun Zheng merely waved his hand impatiently. "Alright, come up and eat!" 0

Surprised by his reaction, Yun Li hurriedly pulled Jiang Shiyu upstairs. 0

At the dining table, there was a tense silence. Yun Li quietly served Jiang Shiyu some food while Deng Ting pretended not to notice. When Yun Zheng caught sight of it for the first time, he showed no reaction, but after seeing it a second and third time, he let out a hum of disapproval. 0

Yun Li smiled and offered a shrimp to Yun Zheng. "Dad, this shrimp is delicious. Have some more." 0

Yun Zheng took the shrimp and put it in his mouth, his expression neutral yet somehow conveying an inexplicable annoyance. 0

After a long silence at the table, Yun Zheng broke the stillness. He swallowed his food and addressed Jiang Shiyu. "Xiao Jiang, you and Hao Hao need to figure things out regarding that gift contract. Based on Hao Hao's intentions, you two should discuss it among yourselves. We don't want to worry about these things when we're old." 0

Jiang Shiyu stiffened slightly as he tightened his grip on his chopsticks, his face serious. "Understood." 0

Yun Li looked puzzled at the two of them. "What contract?" 0

Seeing that Yun Li was unaware of the situation, Yun Zheng smirked and said, "You explain it yourself." 0

Yun Li turned to Jiang Shiyu with a look that seemed to say, "Are you keeping secrets from me again?" 0

After dinner, Yun Li headed to her room while Jiang Shiyu followed behind, wanting to explain. However, Yun Li shut the door in his face and locked it. 0

Jiang Shiyu rubbed the back of his head and tentatively called out, "Hao Hao, can I come in?" 0

Standing in front of the door with her arms crossed, Yun Li replied, "It's locked; you can let yourself in!" 0

When there was no response from outside, she pressed her ear against the door but heard nothing. 0

Just then, she heard the sound of the lock turning. She turned around as the door opened to reveal Jiang Shiyu with a raised eyebrow and a set of jingling keys in hand. 0

He stepped inside and closed the door behind him. Yun Li kicked him lightly. "How can you just walk into a girl's room?" 0

"You listen to my explanation first," he said. 0

Yun Li sat down on the small sofa. "You talk; just don’t come any closer. We need to maintain a distance of at least one meter." 0

Jiang Shiyu chuckled. "Alright." 0

Once she understood what he was trying to say, she immediately rejected him. "I know you're trying to reassure my parents, but I can't accept this. It feels like you're putting all your wealth and life on me. What if—" She paused for a moment before continuing, "What if we end up having conflicts in the future? What will you do then?" 0

Leaning against the door with raised eyebrows and a lazy smile on his lips, Jiang Shiyu replied confidently, "I won't give you that chance." 0

"Who knows? Over time, if you grow old and lose your charm, I might fall for someone else," she teased. 0

Jiang Shiyu's gaze turned serious as he stared at her intently as if challenging her with unspoken words: "Do you dare?" 0

Feeling uneasy under his intense gaze, Yun Li forced a smile and replied softly, "I said 'what if.'" 0

He straightened up and walked over to her side. Kneeling down so they were eye-to-eye, he gently ruffled her hair. "There won't be any 'what ifs.' My person will only be mine." 0

Yun Li's eyelashes fluttered slightly as she asked hesitantly, "Jiang Shiyu, are you sure?" 0

With a faint smile playing on his lips, he pinched her nose playfully. "Am I someone who jokes around?" 0

After National Day passed, the two went to Beijing to start their work. 0

Yun Li was quite busy during the latter half of her term while Jiang Shiyu had his hands full with Lan Yun and the Aerospace Research Institute; they found themselves spending less time together. 0

On that day, Yun Li had half a day off, and Jiang Shiyu had made a reservation at a restaurant to invite her for dinner. The people Jiang Shiyu had arranged even took the time to dress her up. Yun Li couldn't understand why so much effort was put into just having a meal. 0

When they arrived at the restaurant, she wore a qipao, her long hair flowing and voluminous, and walked onto the terrace in high heels. Above the terrace, a trellis adorned with roses was set up, and as she looked up, vibrant red blooms caught her eye. Yun Li began to suspect something special was happening. 0

There were only the two of them on the terrace, and a candle was placed on the table between them. Jiang Shiyu was dressed in formal attire, tall and elegant, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His hair was slicked back, giving him a handsome and strong appearance. At that moment, his expression softened as he looked at her with eyes full of affection. 0

He slowly walked over, took her hand, and led her to the railing surrounded by blooming roses. "Let's count down from ten!" he said. 0

Yun Li stared at him in surprise but complied. When she reached three, she paused slightly and asked, "Is this really okay?" 0

Jiang Shiyu smiled. "Of course! Just follow your own rhythm." 0

As she finished counting down, a dazzling display of fireworks erupted before them, gradually revealing Yun Li's name in the sky. Next to her name was a heart shape; it sounded cliché but was truly breathtaking in person. 0

Yun Li's eyes sparkled like fireworks bursting open; it was beautiful. She turned to look at him and said, "I really like it." 0

Jiang Shiyu tightened his grip on her hand, worried she might not hear him as he leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "Hao Hao, this marks our eighteenth meeting." 0

Yun Li was taken aback; she tilted her head to look at him, not blinking at all. Thirteen years old, at night, in the park—she remembered being an emotional mess. 0

His voice was low yet clear amidst the noisy fireworks: "I remember it all; I've always remembered." 0

A tear quickly formed in her eye and fell before it could even slide down her cheek; he reached out to wipe it away. 0

"I'm sorry for not being good enough before," he said softly. 0

Yun Li shook her head. "I don't blame you." 0

He gently pressed his forehead against hers and continued, "I realize now that my love for you wasn't enough back then; I didn't express it well. I might have made you uncomfortable at times." 0

Yun Li sniffed; each tear that appeared was wiped away by him, leaving her cheeks dry but her eyes glistening with moisture. 0

"Then you need to love me twice as much now," she replied. 0

He chuckled softly. "Alright." 0

"We've missed out on so much; I don't want to waste another second now." 0

He stepped back slightly so Yun Li could see his pupils clearly—deep black eyes framed by long lashes and beautifully shaped eyebrows that added to his naturally rugged handsomeness. 0

Yun Li wrapped her arms around his neck, waiting for what he would say next. 0

"We need to seize every moment we have left together. Will you stay by my side?" 0

Yun Li nodded firmly. "I will." 0

"I love you," he said as he leaned in to kiss her lips. The fireworks continued above them as the cold wind blew through their long hair; they stood together—two beautiful figures against the night sky. 0

The two of them were back together. Although Shu Ran felt unhappy about it, there was nothing she could do. However, seeing Jiang Shiyu looking much better than before, she found herself changing her perspective on him. 0

During the wedding, Yun Li received the bouquet that Shu Ran had sent her. Their eyes met, silently communicating their feelings. 0

Later, Jiang Shiyu and his grandfather visited the Yun Family. They happened to discuss the two of them, and Yun Zheng and Deng Ting felt it was mainly about the children's opinions. 0

Jiang Zesheng looked at them and said to Jiang Shiyu, "There's no rush; we'll let you know in advance when the time comes." 0

Afterward, while Yun Zheng and the others played chess and cards, Yun Li pulled Jiang Shiyu aside. She was a bit angry and asked, "Why didn’t you say you wanted to get married?" 0

He sighed; indeed, there was no rush. 0

Yun Li turned away in frustration. "No rush? At this age, you’re still not in a hurry? Wasn’t it you who said you didn’t want to waste a single moment? Have you forgotten already?" 0

Men's words are simply not trustworthy. 0

Jiang Shiyu chuckled helplessly. He quickly stepped forward to grab her, pulling her into his embrace. Yun Li huffed and turned her head away from him. 0

He kissed her cheek and asked, "Baby, do you want to get married?" 0

Yun Li refused to admit it, making her seem desperate to marry. 0

"Don’t want to? Alright! But I still want to get married." 0

"Reconsider?" 0

Yun Li pushed him away. "I don’t want to get married; that’s just wishful thinking." 0

"When do you want to get married then?" 0

Yun Li crossed her arms and walked ahead. "I don’t want to get married for my entire life; I think things are great as they are now." 0

Jiang Shiyu wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "That’s not true; sooner or later, we’ll end up on the same household registration." 0

After that, everyone continued with their work. On Jiang Shiyu's birthday, he proposed to Yun Li. 0

Yun Li didn’t agree. After hearing Shu Ran and Qin Nianchu's advice, she thought it made sense; it was better to date a bit longer. Besides, they would eventually get married anyway—why not enjoy a little more time together? 0

By the way, Qin Nianchu got married to Peng Qingyu. The two of them didn’t have a wedding ceremony but chose a very free-spirited approach to marriage. However, after getting married, Qin Nianchu felt that Peng Qingyu was too controlling, leading her to regret getting married. 0
