At the Beijing Aerospace Research Institute, Jiang Shiyu sat in the cafeteria, wearing a shirt and glasses, absorbed in his meal. He spent most of his time at the Aerospace Research Institute, with Lan Yun only visiting him during his free moments. As he glanced at his phone, a serious expression crossed his face. 0

"Jiang, what are you looking at? You seem really focused," Lin Gong remarked, noticing his demeanor. 0

Jiang Shiyu put down his phone and replied casually, "Nothing much." 0

Lin Gong pressed on, "Aren't you trying to win back your ex-girlfriend? How's that going?" 0

Jiang Shiyu shook his head. The others exchanged glances and began brainstorming ideas. 0

"Your ex-girlfriend likes flowers, right? Just send her some," Lin Gong suggested. 0

Teacher Yu chimed in, "Come on, Lin. Sending flowers is fine when she's ten, but at thirty? That feels a bit insincere." 0

A new intern added, "That's true. My previous girlfriend loved flowers too; she was always thrilled when I gave her some. But women's hearts change with age. Why not just get her a handbag? Women love bags." 0

Jiang Shiyu replied, "She doesn't like luxury handbags." 0

Most of the people at the Aerospace Research Institute were men, and their lack of romantic understanding meant none of their suggestions were particularly useful. 0

Just then, a woman in her forties approached with a tray and sat down across from Jiang Shiyu. She looked at him and teased, "Oh! Is there someone in our research institute who can't catch a flower?" 0

"Let me see what you look like! I have a good eye for these things; I can definitely help." 0

Lin Gong saw her as a ray of hope and quickly pulled out his phone. "I have a picture! This girl looks like a star; I even have her promotional poster!" 0

Everyone's attention shifted to Lin Gong's phone. The image showed a woman in a qipao, her hair neatly styled. Despite the heavy stage makeup, it couldn't hide the sparkle in her eyes; her features were strikingly beautiful. 0

Director Wang, responsible for the institute's information technology and management, widened his eyes upon seeing the photo. "This girl is really stunning! It's almost a shame for her to be paired with just one flower," she commented playfully. 0

She continued to tease Jiang Shiyu. Known for his aloofness, Jiang had become accustomed to Director Wang's jests aimed at humbling him. The nickname "one flower" had stuck among their colleagues. 0

Lin Gong chuckled, "I agree! After all, she's the head of the Ge Theatre, and her career is thriving, like a fish in water." 0

Director Wang added, "But hey! Our flower here isn't bad either. She's tall and graceful, a talented individual from a prestigious school. She might just be able to catch the eye of that young lady." 0

The intern couldn't help but feel sympathy for Jiang Shiyu. With such a successful career, the young lady seemed to lack nothing; it was hard to imagine what else she could desire. 0

Jiang Shiyu took off his glasses and rubbed his forehead. With a slight smirk, he asked, "Are you giving me advice or just throwing salt in my wounds?" 0

Director Wang laughed and took a sip of soup. "It’s not that simple. The more successful a woman is, the more she needs emotional and physical comfort." 0

The intern didn’t quite understand, but the older men in the room did, and they all chuckled quietly. 0

Jiang Shiyu looked at Director Wang, who winked at him as if he were about to spill the beans. 0

Suddenly, Jiang Shiyu recalled that day in her room when she had been angry but had also reacted. 0

Yun Li wasn’t new to spending New Year’s away from home, but this time felt different. It wasn’t work-related; she was celebrating with her close friends. 0

She was excited as she had arranged to have a barbecue on New Year’s Eve at a seaside terrace with a few people she met in Haicheng. 0

As the New Year approached, Yun Li and Shu Ran explored the surrounding areas of Haicheng. Shu Ran drove her convertible along the coastal road, with rows of palm trees flashing by and the salty sea breeze filling the air—a taste of freedom. 0

After wandering around and playing on the beach, Bai Zhousheng suggested they play volleyball. 0

Shu Ran thought it was a great idea and eagerly wanted to join in. 0

Yun Li hesitated, "But I don’t know how to play volleyball." 0

"Just have fun! We’re not playing seriously," Bai Zhousheng reassured her. 0

With that encouragement, Yun Li felt less apprehensive. 0

Bai Zhousheng brought along another guy, making it an even four players. Since none of them were professionals, they decided not to worry about the rules. 0

Yun Li and Shu Ran teamed up for their first game but lacked any coordination. Eventually, Shu Ran got tired and plopped down on the sand, exclaiming that she was done playing. 0

Yun Li laughed, "See? I told you to move less; now you’re out of energy!" 0

She helped Shu Ran up and said to Bai Zhousheng, "Let’s take a break." 0

Bai Zhousheng smiled and made a hand gesture indicating a pause. 0

Shu Ran sat on a beach chair watching Bai Zhousheng and the other guy play volleyball. She took big gulps of water and remarked, "Bai Zhousheng looks pretty good, but his emotional intelligence is a bit low. Neither of us knows how to play, yet he doesn’t cut us any slack." 0

"Is it possible that he let me win?" Yun Li pondered. 0

"Huh? Shu Ran couldn't believe that he was so bad. No way, he definitely let me win; I can tell." 0

In reality, he indeed had let her win. There were two occasions when he intentionally missed the ball or hit it out of bounds. 0

However, when it came to serving, neither of them could return the ball, and he ended up exhausting himself after running around the court. 0
