Arriving at a nearby hotel, she requested a room with a king-sized bed. Once inside, Yun Li turned on the heating to warm up the space. She took Jiang Shiyu by the arm and pressed him down onto the bed.
Jiang Shiyu raised an eyebrow at her actions, wondering what she was up to. "What are we doing?"
"Going to sleep! I'm here with you, so just sleep!"
"Aren't we going to sleep together?"
Yun Li unzipped her jacket, revealing a black spaghetti strap bodysuit underneath. "I'm going to take a shower first. Do you want to wait for me?"
He nodded.
"Then you get into bed; I'll be out soon."
With that, Yun Li quickly grabbed some clothes and headed into the bathroom to shower. Jiang Shiyu removed his outerwear and lay back on the bed, his hands clasped behind his head as he stared at the ceiling in a daze.
Yun Li didn't wash her hair; she quickly rinsed off the sweat from her body. Seeing that he hadn't fallen asleep yet, she pulled back the covers and snuggled into his arms.
"Close your eyes and sleep," she said softly.
Jiang Shiyu adjusted his position and turned off the light, and the two embraced as they drifted off to sleep.
In the darkness, he suddenly spoke up, "Hao Hao, do you like adventures?"
Yun Li's voice was soft and muffled against his chest. "I like challenges."
"What a coincidence, I do too," he chuckled lightly, his dark eyes deepened by the night.
Yun Li nestled closer against his warm chest. "I'm willing to take risks for anything that presents a challenge because achieving success feels incredibly rewarding."
"I wasn't always this skilled, you know? I used to be afraid of learning flips and jumps because I was scared."
"But watching others flip and jump so effortlessly was something I envied. The more afraid I felt, the more I wanted to conquer that fear."
"Can you imagine me practicing while crying? I cried out of fear, but I practiced because I wanted to succeed."
"My Hao Hao is truly amazing," he praised her.
Yun Li smiled sweetly, "You're amazing too, we both are." She yawned and added, "Let's go to sleep! Good night."
Gently kissing the top of her head, his voice became deeper and more magnetic in the darkness, "Good night, baby."
The next day, Yun Li woke up at six o'clock. Seeing that he was still asleep, she went to freshen up first.
By the time she finished her makeup and came out, he was awake. He got out of bed, put on his coat, and walked over to smooth down her neatly tied hair. "Good morning, baby."
Yun Li felt a bit shy at being called "baby" so casually by him.
After dropping Yun Li off at school, he drove back to Jinghua Hangda.
In the evening, he went to the suburban estate again. The estate was surrounded by a tranquil forest shrouded in darkness, while inside it was brightly lit, standing out as a mysterious presence among the trees.
The luxurious iron gate was tall and wide, opening automatically as he drove in with his Cullinan. He parked right at the entrance and tossed the car keys to the attendant.
He walked up the steps and entered the house.
An attendant approached him and said, "Young Master, the Master is waiting for you in his study."
Jiang Shiyu nodded and sauntered upstairs. Arriving at the study, he opened the door without knocking and walked in casually.
The old man was on the phone.
Noticing Jiang Shiyu's arrival, he glanced at him but continued his conversation. "In a couple of days, I'll have A Yu take Bei Bei and Hao Hao to play for a few days. A Yu is familiar with Jing City; they have plenty of topics to chat about since they’re young."
Jiang Shiyu fiddled with a lighter, his gaze cold and sharp.
After hanging up the phone, the old man looked at Jiang Shiyu. "Do you remember that girl from our last meeting? Her name is Shang Beibei. You should take her out tomorrow; you haven't shown her around since then. Don't lose your manners."
"I never had any manners; why would I worry about losing them?" he replied nonchalantly without even lifting his eyes.
The old man wasn't angry; instead, his hawk-like eyes fixed sharply on him. "A Yu, your mother has talked to you about this. Your mother and I don’t approve of you two being together."
Jiang Shiyu continued playing with the silver lighter, making it click repeatedly. His demeanor was relaxed and indifferent as he said, "You didn’t approve."
"I'm Jiang by surname, not Shi. Why do you keep staring at me? Hurry up and get Ms. Shi divorced from Jiang Hao so she can have another child."
"I might as well not exist for you," he said dismissively, sounding like a spoiled rich kid who couldn't be relied upon.
The old man's expression finally changed. "What nonsense are you talking? You think you can escape from the Shi Family? It's impossible! You carry Shi Family blood; you can't distance yourself from us. Your marriage and your life are tied to the Shi Family—give up on that idea."
