Jiang Shiyu carried a black bag filled with a camera. It was the peak of the travel season, and the two of them entered through the Ticket Gate, surrounded by a bustling crowd. Jiang Shiyu held tightly onto Yun Li's hand, keeping her eyes focused ahead.
Once they boarded the bus, Yun Li joyfully gazed at the scenery outside. This place was indeed different from Jiangzhou, which lacked such lush forests and vibrant surroundings.
Upon arriving at Wolong Lake, Yun Li couldn't wait to start taking photos. Jiang Shiyu held the camera and captured various poses as Yun Li struck them. The crowd was overwhelming, and after finishing their shots, they moved aside to let others take theirs.
The water at Yueyaba was crystal clear and green. As more people gathered to take pictures, Yun Li realized it was too crowded to stay for long.
"Let's go! It's too packed here," she suggested.
"Can't we wait a bit?"
Yun Li shook her head. "I don't want to wait; we still have other places to explore!"
They soon arrived at Yuan Yang Lake, which Yun Li had been eagerly anticipating. Here, they could take a boat to get closer to the water and the forest. After buying tickets, they donned life jackets under the guidance of the staff and boarded the boat.
Jiang Shiyu took up the oars and began rowing. The water shimmered in shades of blue and green, resembling a vast emerald. The surrounding trees were dense and lush, their leaves swaying gently in the breeze.
Yun Li eagerly snapped photos, aiming her camera at Jiang Shiyu as he rowed across the lake. The wind tousled his hair as he looked up at the treetops, softening his sharp brow line.
Unable to resist, Yun Li took several more shots.
After disembarking, they found a spot to sit and rest for a while. Jiang Shiyu's gaze fell on the photos in his camera as he absentmindedly traced his fingers along the armrest before taking a sip of water.
Yun Li stood up again to take pictures by the railing.
Jiang Shiyu remained focused on his camera, continuing to drink water.
Yun Li captured images of the lake, feeling that every shot was beautiful and that she could take countless pictures without wasting any.
Squinting against the sunlight, she aimed her camera at the lake's surface when suddenly a hand appeared in her frame. With a click, she pressed the shutter and looked up to see its owner smiling at her. "Hello there! Want to get acquainted?"
"Sorry, I have my boyfriend over there," Yun Li replied, nodding toward Jiang Shiyu who was sitting with his back turned to them.
The man chuckled lightly. "I know; I've been following you both."
Boyfriends can be replaced.
Yun Li's expression turned cold at his words. This man didn’t know how to take a hint and was just looking for trouble. She turned to leave, not wanting to deal with him.
But the man grabbed her by the arm, his gaze lewd. "With a figure like yours, why not get to know each other? I'm not trying to do anything."
A flicker of disgust crossed Yun Li's eyes, and her cold face took on an aggressive tone. "Let go."
The man's reaction only fueled his interest; he found her personality entertaining. Suddenly, his wrist was seized by a powerful grip that felt as if it might break.
Jiang Shiyu stood there with a serious expression, his deep Peach Blossom Eyes filled with menace. "If you don’t want to get hurt, then scram."
The man was pushed back by an unstoppable force, stumbling several steps in retreat. Jiang Shiyu exuded a strong aura; encountering someone tough made the onlookers gather around. The man could only grit his teeth and leave.
Just because Jiang Shiyu didn’t look this way didn’t mean he wasn’t paying attention. He glanced down at Yun Li’s arm, checking if she was alright.
"I'm fine," Yun Li shook her head. "That move you did earlier was amazing! Teach me! That way I can protect myself."
"Alright, I'll teach you."
For some reason, she felt that Jiang Shiyu was particularly distant today. He hardly spoke and had stopped putting his arm around her shoulders like he usually did; they were just holding hands now, and he didn’t seem interested in looking at her.
Yun Li enjoyed being looked at by Jiang Shiyu because when he gazed at her with those Peach Blossom Eyes, there was a tenderness mixed with unabashed affection that made her feel utterly captivated. Yet today, not even a kiss had been shared, which was unusual given how affectionate he usually was.
