Yun Li furrowed her brows slightly, her cold expression becoming even more aloof.
Fang Yang watched her with a hint of amusement in his eyes, a playful desire to conquer her.
"Here to see Jiang Shiyu?"
Yun Li simply replied, "Move aside."
Fang Yang chuckled lightly, unable to hide his desire for Yun Li, which made her feel uncomfortable and deepened her disdain.
When he refused to let her pass, she sidestepped him. Just as she took a couple of steps away, Fang Yang said, "You might not know, but Jiang Shiyu is on a blind date."
These words made Yun Li stop in her tracks, her hands clenched tightly as she struggled to believe Fang Yang's claim.
Fang Yang stepped closer and showed her a photograph. She looked closely at it.
In the photo was a stunning girl wearing a white dress. The weather in May was warm enough, but it wasn't suitable to wear just a single dress. The girl's aura was extraordinary; even in the photo, she radiated a noble and dazzling presence. Her gaze towards Jiang Shiyu was filled with blatant interest and confident determination.
Meanwhile, Jiang Shiyu sat there nonchalantly, his expression unreadable from the side profile visible in the photo.
Yun Li felt her eyes welling up with tears but fought to hold them back; after all, it was just a photograph.
Fang Yang didn't miss the redness in her eyes and continued, "Just a photograph? Why do you think he would meet with a girl who likes him while he has a girlfriend?"
Moreover, there was a bouquet of roses on the table.
Yun Li's heart was pierced with pain. She said nothing more and walked away with red-rimmed eyes, her back appearing somewhat desperate as she fled.
A man nearby clicked his tongue; seeing her tearful eyes only made her more endearing.
Fang Yang gazed deeply in the direction she had left; she was far more challenging than Zheng Yating.
Speaking of Zheng Yating, ever since they had spent the night together last time, things had been different between them. It had been quite enjoyable.
He wondered who was better—Zheng Yating or Yun Li?
Yun Li arrived at Room One of the fragrance house and opened the door, but he was still not there.
Yun Li's phone was turned off. As she walked down the street, the overcast sky began to rain. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the rain until a drop landed on her eyelashes, snapping her back to reality.
She found a shop to take shelter from the rain, but she was already soaked. Wearing only a thin jacket, the fabric clung to her body, and the cold wind made her shiver. The rain intensified, and unfortunately, the shop she had chosen was closed. Now, she didn't know what to do.
She crouched down, trying to warm herself. After waiting for half an hour, the rain showed no signs of stopping. Her lips turned pale, trembling from the cold.
Suddenly, a car pulled up, and the door opened. A black umbrella popped open as someone rushed toward her. Realizing who it was, Yun Li saw Qin Nianchu's face emerge from beneath the umbrella. "Li Li, what are you doing here? Get in the car!"
Once inside, Qin Nianchu draped a blanket over her shoulders. The car was warm, but Yun Li still felt cold. Qin Nianzhe was driving and glanced at her through the rearview mirror with concern. "How did you get so soaked?"
Arriving at her maternal grandparents' house, Qin Nianchu led her to her room and prepared a hot bath for her. After soaking in the warm water, Yun Li stepped out but still felt dizzy. She was upset and didn't want to talk; lying on the bed felt comforting as warmth enveloped her. However, she soon became increasingly hot.
Her face flushed alarmingly red. Alarmed by this change, Qin Nianchu called for Qin Nianzhe and they rushed her to the hospital. She slept through the night and only woke up the next day when her fever finally broke.
As she opened her eyes, she felt a painful scratch in her throat. Looking around, she realized she was in a hospital room. Qin Nianchu returned from outside with breakfast and approached her when he saw she was awake. "Li Li, how are you feeling? Are you still unwell?"
Yun Li shook her head but struggled to speak due to her hoarse voice. "Nianchu... has Jiang Shiyu come?"
Qin Nianchu's frustration bubbled over. "What is wrong with him? He doesn't reply on WeChat or answer his phone."
You fell ill, and he didn't come to check on you; instead, he disappeared. I said he was unreliable.
Yun Li began to worry about him. He wouldn't just vanish like this; something must have happened.
Qin Nianchu pressed her shoulder gently. "Alright, you should rest now. Don't talk; your throat is in such bad shape."
