Yun Zheng suddenly remembered that Yun was still in the car. In his excitement, he had almost forgotten about his daughter.
"Daughter? Is she a girl?" Grandpa Jiang's eyes widened as he looked at Jiang Shiyu.
Hao Hao quickly came out to greet Grandpa Jiang.
Yun Xin's heart raced, and she became nervous.
Jiang Shiyu glanced at the dark car window, a casual smile playing on her lips. She guessed that the girl was probably flustered and unsure of what to do.
Yun opened the car door and stepped out, walking up to Grandpa Jiang with a sweet smile and a gentle voice. "Hello, Grandpa Jiang."
Jiang Zesheng observed her closely, and joy lit up his eyes. "Hello there, Little Girl."
Yun pressed her lips together in a faint smile, standing straight and appearing like a well-behaved student.
Old Jiang said, "We'll be heading back now, so we won't disturb you any longer."
Jiang Zesheng waved his hand with a smile. "You haven't disturbed me at all. I should thank you for bringing my grandson back. Come over to our house sometime!"
Yun Zheng nodded, and Hao Hao said goodbye to Grandpa Jiang.
Yun obediently followed suit. "Goodbye, Grandpa Jiang."
"Goodbye! Come over to play sometime!"
It wasn't until the car had driven far away that Jiang Zesheng turned to his grandson, who was busy helping the nanny carry in the luggage.
"What’s your relationship with that Little Girl?" Jiang Zesheng asked curiously.
Jiang Shiyu sighed helplessly. "Grandpa, she's just an ordinary friend."
Jiang Zesheng didn't believe it. "Don't try to fool me; I know how young people's social circles work." He sighed lightly. "Well, it's true that such a well-behaved girl is quite a catch for you."
Jiang Shiyu scoffed softly.
There was no need to belittle his own grandson.
Jiang Zesheng was an impressive businessman and also a philanthropist, donating seven figures annually to remote mountainous areas. He had consistently ranked among the top names on Forbes' global billionaire list for many years.
Even though he held a high position, he was easygoing, kind-hearted, and treated others well. Perhaps due to his old age, he showed indifference towards many things, simply wanting to live a lively and happy life. His late wife, Lin Yuhua, was also a designer at the National Space Administration but had passed away long ago.
Jiang Shiyu chose to study Aerospace instead of finance, influenced by his grandmother.
In the car, Yun Xin was still a bit excited. She leaned forward and asked, "Dad, do you know Grandpa Jiang Shiyu?"
"Not really," he replied. "I just see Old Jiang on the news often. You don’t like watching the news; otherwise, you might have heard a thing or two."
Yun leaned back in her seat and said, "Oh."
When they returned home, Mom Yun had already prepared dinner. The aroma filled the house. Yun tossed her bag aside and rushed to the dining table to take a sniff. "It smells so good!"
Deng Ting playfully scolded her, "Go wash your hands."
Yun complied and went to wash her hands before sitting down. Dad placed a duck leg in her bowl, having thoughtfully removed the skin.
"Here you go, Hao Hao. You've worked hard; eat more."
"Thank you, Dad."
Mom Deng Ting added a piece of Lion's Head meatball to her bowl. "Hao Hao, eat half of this Lion's Head; your dad will have the other half."
Yun nodded with a bright smile. "Okay."
Since she was little, Yun had never been able to finish her meals; it was always Dad who cleaned up after her.
Today she ate a bit too much, so she skipped the rice and just had some vegetables when the flavors became too salty.
Eating like this was very satisfying; it was all home-cooked goodness.
