It was also that time on WeChat.
Zhang Mingyu gave a thumbs up and said, "You're impressive."
Standing below, Xu Jiaqing remarked, "You went out with Brother Yu today, didn't you? You must have run into Yun Li."
He hit the nail on the head.
Qin Nianzhe nodded in agreement.
Zhang Mingyu looked regretful and said, "If I had known, I would have gone too and finished my homework later."
Xu Jiaxing chuckled as he returned to his own bed.
Jiang Shiyu frowned, annoyed, and said, "Keep it down; the neighbors will complain about the noise."
Qin Nianzhe scoffed, "Who’s afraid of whom? It’s just normal volume; it’s not loud at all."
Jiang Shiyu had briefly been drawn into their conversation but lost interest and picked up his phone to scroll through Moments.
At this hour, there were few people posting. Jiang Shiyu quickly spotted a post from Qin Nianchu.
He clicked on the familiar photo.
The girl had a fair complexion with a hint of blush; she looked tired, with sweat dampening her hair against her forehead. Her legs formed a straight line, and her feet were perfectly pointed; her waist seemed to fold into an impossible shape as if she had no bones at all.
He pressed and held to save the image.
The next day at eight o'clock, Yun Li got up on time to call Qin Nianchu for morning practice.
Many students worked hard; whether it was a long or short break, they would consciously practice in the mornings and evenings at school.
Yun Li woke up early as if energized by a shot of adrenaline. Her mood seemed exceptionally bright.
After an hour of morning practice, Qin Nianchu and Yun Li went to the school cafeteria for breakfast.
After returning to their dorm to take a shower, the two sat together to watch a drama.
Yun Li rarely watched TV dramas; even when she wanted to, she never had the time. Now that school had just started and her studies weren’t too demanding yet, she had a bit of free time to watch some television.
After watching a few episodes, Qin Nianchu's phone rang—it was Qin Nianzhe.
"Hey! What’s up?"
"Okay, I’ll be right there."
Qin Nianchu hung up the phone and said to Yun Li, "Li Li, Qin Nianzhe invited us to dinner at Jinghua Hangda. Let’s get ready."
Yun Li nodded, quickly applying some light makeup. She slipped on a fitted top and paired it with a pair of denim shorts, which made her legs look long and straight against her fair skin.
She tied her hair into a loose bun, different from the tight one she wore for class. A few strands of bangs framed her face, giving her a full and rounded appearance that complemented her bun beautifully.
Qin Nianchu chose a dress that was slightly short; it accentuated her tall figure and made her legs appear even longer.
Standing together, they were a sight to behold, their long legs drawing attention wherever they went.
They took a taxi to Jinghua Hangda, and as soon as they arrived, they entered Hang Da.
The campus was bustling with people over the weekend. The atmosphere was different from theirs at Jing Wu; here, the students exuded an air of scholarly sophistication, each clutching books and appearing quite knowledgeable.
Although it wasn’t Qin Nianchu's first time at Hang Da, she still looked around like a curious little girl, hoping to spot some handsome guys.
"This Hang Da is so different from our Jing Wu," Yun Li remarked. "There are way more boys here, and they all seem really smart."
"Honestly, how did that guy Qin Nianzhe get into such a good school? My family’s ancestors must be watching over him."
Yun Li couldn’t help but laugh at her comment about Qin Nianzhe. "Nianchu, your brother is actually pretty good! He’s not as hopeless as you make him sound!"
"I just think he’s on a completely different wavelength from these academic elites. They talk about professional knowledge and discuss the development of China’s aerospace industry and future changes, while he’s only concerned with what to eat today, what to play with, what to drink, and oh—where the nearest restroom is because he needs to go."
Yun Li laughed so hard that tears formed in the corners of her eyes. She wiped them away and said, "Nianchu, I can’t help but feel like you’re describing yourself!"
"Hey! Li Li, you’ve turned bad! Now you’re teasing me!"
Qin Nianchu pouted playfully and wrapped her arms around Yun Li's arm.
