Jiang Chen and Lin Yin took a taxi directly to a five-star hotel in Dao City. In the presidential suite, Lin Yin smiled and said, "Master, I've booked this room. Can I stay with you?"
"In Quiet Villa, I've only assessed Ye Ming and Chen Zhi's abilities. I haven't seen your progress over the past six months. Before the competition, I'll take a look. If you don't disappoint me, you can stay here," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Master, I promise I won't let you down! I can now sense the Spiritual Energy in the world anytime and anywhere, and I can practice breathing techniques," Lin Yin said as she sat cross-legged on the carpet. She began to operate her Cultivation Method, drawing the thin Spiritual Energy around her into a small cyclone above her head. The energy then flowed through her nostrils and into her body. After circulating it for one cycle, she gently exhaled a breath of turbid air.
"Master, what do you think? Did I disappoint you?" Lin Yin asked with a smile.
"Not at all. You truly haven't let me down. To be able to cultivate to this level while also being a good caretaker shows your diligence. You can stay in my room tonight," Jiang Chen said.
"Thank you, Master." Lin Yin mimicked characters from TV dramas and cupped her fists in gratitude toward Jiang Chen.
"Staying in my room doesn't mean you can slack off on your cultivation. Tonight, you'll meditate here for the night. You have good talent, but your mindset is a bit erratic and needs more honing through meditation. I'll teach you a Meditation Technique shortly," Jiang Chen said seriously.
"Oh, fine, Master." Lin Yin pouted, looking somewhat aggrieved. She had hoped to chat with her master that night but was instead faced with the prospect of boring meditation; however, she dared not defy him.
Suddenly, Jiang Chen's phone rang; it was Liu Chaowu calling.
Liu Chaowu was also a judge for this Chinese Martial Arts Competition and had already arrived, hoping to meet Jiang Chen. Jiang Chen provided him with the hotel address and waited in the room.
"Master, this Martial Arts Competition is just flashy moves; I don't think much of it. Do you?" Lin Yin remarked.
"Apart from the Martial Arts Competition, there's also the Martial Arts Arena Tournament where some martial arts experts will participate. You can go up on stage and spar with them," Jiang Chen explained.
"They're definitely not my opponents; I'm not interested," Lin Yin said proudly, tilting her head back.
"Practicing is still necessary," Jiang Chen chuckled. He didn't find Lin Yin's pride excessive; as his disciple, she should have an air of confidence that looked down upon the world. The martial arts on Earth were indeed not something to take too seriously.
"Alright, while we have time now, I'll teach you the Meditation Technique. If you want to go further in your cultivation journey, your mindset is crucial. Every time you break through a bottleneck, your mindset becomes especially important. You're currently just at the beginning stage of Qi cultivation, but the path of cultivation is like building a tall building from flat ground; your mindset is the supporting pillar of that tall building and cannot be overlooked," Jiang Chen said earnestly.
Seeing her master’s seriousness, Lin Yin also became serious and listened attentively to his teachings on meditation.
Half an hour later, Liu Chaowu hurriedly arrived. Upon seeing Jiang Chen, he quickly performed a deep bow. The encounter at West Lake left a deep impression on Liu Chaowu; Jiang Chen's strength had astonished him. He was certain that throughout Huaxia, there was probably no one who could match Jiang Chen's prowess.
"Mr. Jiang, tonight Old Master Chen, President of the Dao City Martial Arts Association, is hosting a gathering at Yan Gui Tower. If you have time, you are welcome to join us. With your strength, Mr. Jiang, you could easily serve as our Huaxia Martial Arts Association President," Liu Chaowu said.
