"Alright, alright, I will definitely be there on time." Ma'erka was filled with excitement; all that mattered was being able to see Jiang Chen again.
Before coming to Europe, Jiang Chen had received a call from a friend named Wang Shun Yuan, inviting him to his wedding at eleven o'clock. Jiang Chen had readily agreed at the time. Wang Shun Yuan was an upperclassman he had met while attending Qingcheng Primary School. Back then, upperclassmen often bullied the younger students, but Wang Shun Yuan treated Jiang Chen well and frequently helped him. Therefore, Jiang Chen had always remembered this friend.
After graduating from elementary school, Jiang Chen had not seen Wang Shun Yuan again. Later, he attended university in the capital and stayed there to work after graduation. The two kept in touch throughout the years.
In his previous life, Jiang Chen had also attended Wang Shun Yuan's wedding and recalled that the bride's family looked down on him because he seemed somewhat poor, especially since he didn't even own a house in the capital.
This time around, Jiang Chen decided to change all of that by gifting Wang Shun Yuan a house. He had also arranged for Ma'erka to perform at the wedding as a special gift. With this, Wang Shun Yuan would no longer face disdain from his mother-in-law's family.
Upon returning to the hotel, Jiang Lu joked, "Brother, you really should go out less from now on, you know?"
"Why's that?"
"Every time you go out, so many girls end up liking you. You're causing trouble for so many of them," Jiang Lu laughed.
"You're overthinking it. Just go back and get some sleep," Jiang Chen replied, and Jiang Lu retreated to his own room.
"Goodnight, Young Master," Qin Xusha chuckled quietly beside them. After Jiang Lu went back to his room, she wished Jiang Chen goodnight as well before heading to her own room.
The next day, a light rain fell in the morning, bringing a touch of coolness to the hot weather.
Jon Delson had everything arranged perfectly. At four-thirty in the afternoon, after the fashion show at Lirenni Garden concluded, Chen Chongchong was holding her boyfriend Kenier's arm while accepting interviews.
Thanks to Kenier's connections, some guests attended Chen Chongchong's fashion show today. However, the truly top-tier guests likely wouldn't show up even if Kenier put on a brave face; after all, this show wasn't Kenier's but rather one he organized to please his girlfriend. Everyone knew this well enough that the real big shots wouldn't lower themselves to support Kenier's little girlfriend.
Of course, those who did come were still quite notable guests. Just by looking at Chen Chongchong's beaming smile at that moment, it was clear she was very happy.
Suddenly, while she was being interviewed, her smile faded as she spotted Ni Xingyi arriving.
Ni Xingyi wasn't alone; she came with many staff members as if she were there to set up the venue.
Chen Chongchong frowned and hurriedly wrapped up her interview before pulling a bewildered Kenier toward Ni Xingyi.
"Ha! Ni Xingyi, you're late! My fashion show is already over. If you want to see it, just look it up online," Chen Chongchong said with a cold smile.
"Chen Chongchong, you've misunderstood. I'm not interested in your designs at all. I'm here to hold my own fashion show tonight. If you're done here, please leave and don't disturb my work," Ni Xingyi replied calmly with a faint smile. If it weren't for Chen Chongchong's commotion yesterday, she wouldn't have been able to change the venue to Lirenni Garden—somewhere she had always dreamed of hosting her event.
