He Yin stared at the computer screen like a hungry wolf, silently counting down in her mind.

Just as He Yin reached "one" in her countdown, a dazzling golden light filled her vision, blinding her for a moment.
When she instinctively lowered her hand from her eyes, a tall man stood before her. He wore a jade crown and a dark robe embroidered with golden dragons, exuding an aura of beauty and grace. His eyes had a slight upward tilt, revealing a hint of charm, and his gaze sparkled with brilliance.
At that moment, the System Deity chimed in: "Detected Regent, Qin Xi, within ten meters ahead."
He Yin's heart leaped with joy; there were no other players around. But soon, she sensed something was off.
Despite the man's extraordinary handsomeness, she shouldn't be so terrified that she couldn't move... And where were her mouse, keyboard, and computer? This wasn't supposed to be a holographic online game!
As Qin Xi's cold gaze swept over her, a chill crept through her limbs. Her legs weakened, and she fell to her knees, uncontrollably begging for mercy: "Your Highness, please spare me! I truly didn't steal..." The moment the words left her mouth, she wished she could bite her own tongue.
"What did you not steal?" Qin Xi approached her, looking down with an imposing presence.
"The... Imperial Jade Seal," He Yin blurted out in shock. She nearly cursed; how could she have crossed over into a game? Given the situation, it seemed she not only had crossed over but also had to follow the game's plot.
"Oh really? You didn't steal?" Qin Xi suddenly broke into a gentle smile.
He Yin nodded vigorously, her head bobbing like a pestle.
Qin Xi sneered coldly, "But I saw your accomplice stealing."
Now that she could defend herself freely, He Yin immediately began to justify her actions. "Since I arrived here, I've only seen you! What is the Imperial Jade Seal? I have no idea!"
"Full of nonsense," Qin Xi called over the guards from the Regent's Palace, raising his voice. "This wretched girl stole something important from the palace. Beat her until she confesses!"
He Yin felt like crying without tears. In the blink of an eye, two black-clad guards sprang out from nowhere, swiftly gagging her and throwing her onto the tiger bench.
Before she could even scream, she felt pain in her backside. Although she had gained a special physique after crossing over that nearly eliminated pain, the System Deity kept warning in her ear: Your health points are decreasing.
Watching her health nearing a dangerous level, He Yin desperately twisted her body, making muffled sounds while glaring at Qin Xi with resentment.
Qin Xi made a gesture for the guards to stop. He pulled out the gag from He Yin's mouth and asked, "Will you confess? Where is that thing?"
As soon as the bindings were loosened, He Yin didn't even catch her breath before cursing, "Let me go right now! Otherwise, woo woo woo..."
The System Deity swiftly blocked her foul language to protect her life.
Qin Xi narrowed his eyes dangerously. "Impudent! Still defiant? Keep beating her!"
"Ow ow! Oww..." He Yin cleverly jumped up from the tiger bench and clung to Regent's thigh, frantically rummaging through her mind for the task's plot. Tears streamed down her face as she cried, "Your Highness, I was wrong! I was wrong! That jade seal was sent by the Chancellor for me to steal! My accomplice was supposed to meet a bearded old man at Ba Bridge during the hour of Hai!"
Seeing that Qin Xi showed signs of being swayed, He Yin continued to sob, "Woo woo, Your Highness, I don't know anything! I'm just a decoy; all of this was something I accidentally overheard! I came here to select palace maids, and someone just threw me in here! I really don't know anything!"
Qin Xi suddenly turned to look at He Yin's backside, a look of confusion crossing her face.
He Yin immediately fell silent, covering her backside with her hands.
Qin Xi's expression was inscrutable, as if lost in thought. After a moment, she said, "Those who know how to adapt are the true talents. Since you’ve shared this information you overheard, why not stay and become a maid?"
With a slight smile, Qin Xi added, "And while you're at it, discreetly inform those people that what he stole is a fake."
