Yun Yichen attempted to infuse his Lingwen power into the ancient text. As his spiritual energy flowed into the pages, the runes began to flicker with a faint light. The onlookers held their breath in anticipation. After a moment of shimmering, the words on the ancient text gradually became clearer, revealing lines of ancient information before their eyes.
It turned out that the mysterious power recorded in the ancient text originated from the core of the Lingyuan Realm—the Lingyuan Heart. The Lingyuan Heart was the birthplace of the Lingyuan Realm, containing boundless spiritual energy and mysterious laws. In ancient times, to prevent this power from being exploited by evil forces, Ancient Cultivators had set up numerous seals around the Lingyuan Heart. However, as time passed, the strength of these seals gradually weakened, and mysterious forces sensed an opportunity to find a way to break the seals and obtain the power of the Lingyuan Heart.
The ancient text also mentioned that to lift the seal on the Lingyuan Heart, one needed to gather the Five Sacred Artifacts: the Chaos Spirit Pearl, Qiankun Compass, Stellar Staff, Nine Nether Demon Sword, and Lingwen Jade Pendant. Each artifact possessed unique powers and was scattered across various corners of the Lingyuan Realm, guarded by powerful Guardian Beasts.
After reading through the ancient text, Yun Yichen furrowed his brow. He understood that gathering these Five Sacred Artifacts would not be an easy task; not only would they have to face formidable Guardian Beasts, but they also had to guard against sabotage from mysterious forces. Yet, determined to thwart their sinister plot and protect the Lingyuan Realm, he felt no inclination to retreat.
With confirmation of the existence of the Five Sacred Artifacts, Yun Yichen began leading his companions in search of clues. He decided to start with the Qiankun Compass since it was recorded in the ancient text that it had once appeared in an ancient ruin within the Lingyuan Realm. Yun Yichen led Su Yao and Lin Yu to this ancient ruin.
The ruin lay amidst a desolate desert, shrouded in a mysterious aura. Cautiously entering, they found that most of the structures inside were in ruins but still bore traces of past grandeur. They searched throughout the ruins for clues about the Qiankun Compass and finally discovered a massive mural within a collapsed palace.
The mural depicted a Cultivator wielding a Qiankun Compass battling against a group of evil forces. Beneath it were inscriptions detailing the origins of the Qiankun Compass and its previous owners. Based on these clues, Yun Yichen speculated that the Qiankun Compass might be hidden in an underground chamber within the ruins.
They began searching for an entrance to this underground chamber within the palace. After a thorough search, they finally discovered a hidden mechanism in one corner of the palace. Yun Yichen activated it using his Lingwen power, causing a passageway leading underground to slowly emerge from the ground.
As they descended through this passageway, they arrived at a dark and damp chamber filled with a foul odor. Old boxes and ancient artifacts were scattered around, and in the center stood a stone platform upon which rested a compass emitting a faint glow—the very Qiankun Compass they had been seeking.
Just as Yun Yichen reached out to take the Qiankun Compass, a deep roar echoed through the chamber. A massive Guardian Beast emerged from the shadows; its enormous form was covered in tough scales, its eyes glinting with red light as flames erupted from its mouth.
Upon spotting Yun Yichen and his companions, the Guardian Beast let out an enraged roar and charged at them. They quickly scattered to prepare for battle. Yun Yichen unleashed his Chaos Lingwen, forming a powerful defensive barrier that blocked the Guardian Beast's attack while Su Yao and Lin Yu launched their own assaults from either side in search of weaknesses.
During this intense battle, Yun Yichen noticed that while the Guardian Beast's scales were tough, there was a relatively vulnerable spot on its abdomen. He shared this discovery with Su Yao and Lin Yu; together they decided to focus their attacks on that weak point. Yun Yichen executed a powerful Lingwen attack to draw the Guardian Beast's attention while Su Yao and Lin Yu struck from below, successfully hitting its abdomen.
The Guardian Beast let out a pained cry and staggered before collapsing to the ground. With their combined efforts, Yun Yichen and his companions defeated it and obtained the Qiankun Compass.
After defeating the Guardian Beast and securing the Qiankun Compass, they did not immediately leave the ruins. Yun Yichen was deeply curious about why this Guardian Beast had been protecting the Qiankun Compass and whether there was any connection between it and mysterious forces.
He approached the fallen Guardian Beast's body for closer inspection. He noticed strange runes etched across its form—runes similar to those recorded in relation to sealing off the Lingyuan Heart in ancient texts. He speculated that this Guardian Beast might have been created by Ancient Cultivators using special spells specifically to guard the Qiankun Compass.
To further uncover its secrets, Yun Yichen used his Lingwen power to attempt communication with any residual consciousness within the Guardian Beast. After considerable effort, he succeeded in establishing contact with its lingering awareness. Through this exchange, he learned an astonishing secret.
The Guardian Beast existed not only to protect the Qiankun Compass but also bore an even greater mission—to safeguard the seal of Lingyuan Heart itself. Mysterious forces had previously sought out this Guardian Beast intending to use it to break open that seal; however, it had steadfastly upheld its duty without allowing them success.
The Guardian Beast also revealed that each of the other four artifacts had its own Guardian Beasts with similar responsibilities. These Guardian Beasts shared a special connection; they could sense each other's states. If any artifact were taken by mysterious forces, all other Guardian Beasts would immediately become aware and strengthen their defenses over their respective artifacts.
Upon learning this secret, Yun Yichen felt both relieved and concerned. He was relieved that Ancient Cultivators' protective mechanisms were still functioning effectively; gathering all Five Sacred Artifacts would not be easy for mysterious forces. Yet he was worried that those forces would not easily give up; they would surely devise ways to breach Guardian Beasts' defenses and seize these artifacts.
Determined now more than ever during their quest for other artifacts, Yun Yichen resolved to proceed with caution—facing challenges from both Guardian Beasts and potential attacks from mysterious forces ahead. With Qiankun Compass in hand, he left with Su Yao and Lin Yu from the ruins as they continued their journey in search of artifacts—striving diligently to protect peace within Lingyuan Realm.
