Fortunately, Yu Suihuan was moving quite well, unlike other pregnant women who, just a few months along, seemed to be moving as slowly as molasses.
The two of them entered the Department Store and headed straight for the clothing section.
"Hey, Lan Jie, do you see who that big-bellied woman is?" A sharp voice rang out, instantly drawing the attention of those nearby.
Beside Xue Lan stood a girl with a harsh appearance, her expression unfriendly as she looked over at Yu Suihuan.
"How can you speak like that? If you can't say anything nice, just keep your mouth shut!" Liu Yingyu quickly stepped in front of Yu Suihuan, sensing the hostility from the other side.
"Hmph! I thought who it was. Liu Yingyu, you just laze around at home all day, don’t you feel ashamed for embarrassing the neighborhood?"
"I wonder why you didn’t join the army; you won’t even do that. Instead, you come here every day to serve this big-bellied woman? Hahaha, it’s no surprise it’s you—born to be a lowly thing!"
"Hahaha, what's wrong with being a servant? At least servants are working people; what’s there to be ashamed of?"
"Unlike you two, with reputations as foul as they come! And yet you still have the nerve to stroll around the streets—what a stench!"
"Who are you calling foul?"
"Whoever I want! If it weren't true, why would you be so anxious? Hahaha, feeling guilty, are we? What’s wrong? Business not so good lately?"
"Strolling around trying to attract customers?"
The crowd murmured among themselves, causing Xue Lan and her companion Wang Xiaoling to flush bright red.
"Yu Suihuan, we don’t even want to waste our breath on people like this!" Liu Yingyu declared boldly, pulling Yu Suihuan forward.
Xue Lan and her friend gritted their teeth in anger. As Yu Suihuan passed by them, Xue Lan extended her leg and tripped Yu Suihuan.
Liu Yingyu rushed to help her, but it was too late.
Yu Suihuan lost her balance and fell to the ground. Fortunately, she managed to brace herself with her hands upon landing, preventing her belly from hitting the floor.
"Oh no! The pregnant woman has fallen! What should we do?"
Seeing the pregnant woman fall, the crowd panicked and rushed forward to help but were unsure how to assist.
The scene was thrown into chaos, and amidst the confusion, Xue Lan and Wang Xiaoling had already vanished without a trace.
"Yu Suihuan, how are you? Wait for me, I’ll call a cab!" Liu Yingyu panicked, rushing out of the crowd to make a phone call.
At that moment, Yu Suihuan was drenched in sweat from the pain, feeling something wet beneath her, unsure if it was blood. Anger boiled within her; if anything happened to her child, she would make Xue Lan and that Wang Xiaoling pay dearly.
"Yu Suihuan? Don't be afraid! I'm taking you to the hospital right now!"
Huo Yaojun was out shopping at the department store with Liu Yan, as their families had been pushing for them to get together, given their age. When he saw a crowd gathered, he initially hesitated to join in, but Liu Yan insisted, so he went along.
To his surprise, among the crowd was Yu Suihuan, and he immediately felt a surge of panic. He rushed forward, scooping Yu Suihuan into his arms and sprinting toward the exit.
"Hey? Huo Yaojun, what do you think you're doing?"
Liu Yan was furious as she watched Huo Yaojun ignore her completely while carrying another woman away. This man was truly disappointing; how could he abandon her like this? She resolved to confront him later.
"Doctor! Doctor!" Huo Yaojun's voice was filled with worry and fear. He was genuinely terrified that something might happen to Yu Suihuan. Despite being drenched in sweat, he exerted every ounce of strength he had.
Fortunately, they arrived at the hospital in time. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the medical staff, Yu Suihuan finally gave birth successfully. A boy and a girl—both were adorable.
