A group of police officers was cornered by a pack of wolves deep in the mountains. Suddenly, as if receiving some kind of signal, the wolves scattered in all directions. The officers exchanged puzzled glances, wondering what was happening. It was all too strange.
When they returned to the road, they discovered that Wang Jianjun had already vanished without a trace. Could it be that these wolves had come specifically to rescue him? It seemed unbelievable. They had no choice but to report back.
After finishing up with Wang Jianjun's situation, Yu Suihuan instantly teleported back to her old house in the village. She had intended to bring Xu Zhuzhen and the children to the town, but upon seeing an unexpected guest at home, she abandoned that idea.
"If you have any news, please contact us in a timely manner!" one of the officers said. "Thank you for your hard work, comrades!"
As Yu Suihuan saw the two police officers out, she thought to herself, "Contact you? To have you come and arrest people? Do you think I'm foolish?" It seemed that it would be very difficult for Wang Jianjun's family to live freely. Was it possible that Wang Jianjun, as a grown man, would have to stay at home for the rest of his life without ever going out?
"Do you think Jianjun will be eaten by the wolves?" Xu Zhuzhen's voice was tinged with evident distress.
Haven't I already said? They only surrounded the police; we can talk inside.
Yu Suihuan shot Xu Zhuzhen a glance and turned to close the door securely. Once inside, she shared everything about rescuing Wang Jianjun with Wang Zhao and Lai Fu with everyone.
"Our Lai Fu has quite a talent!"
Unlike Xu Zhuzhen, the Two Grandmas were completely captivated by Lai Fu's ability to control the wolves.
"Where is Lai Fu? Why hasn't he returned?"
The Two Grandmas were already aware that Wang Jianjun was hiding in the dark and began to worry about Lai Fu.
"He’s keeping watch in town. I’m afraid something might happen. Lai Fu is clever; he can also send word if needed."
"Then let’s head to town now! Jianjun is there alone; it’s not convenient for him to do anything without us around. He’ll have trouble with food and clothing!" suggested Little Old Lady, her intentions pure.
"No need for that; a whole family would attract too much attention. I’m thinking of just sending Li Xiu Zhen and the two kids over!"
"Alright then, Li Xiu Zhen, pack your things and prepare to go with Yu Suihuan! Take all your most important belongings; you probably won't be coming back!" Yu Suihuan reminded.
"Ah!" Xu Zhuzhen finally managed to smile through her tears, wiping her eyes with her sleeve before turning back to the house to gather her things.
With Xu Zhuzhen, the three of them stepped into the darkness. After so many days, this family was finally reunited.
"Jian Jun! Li Xiu Zhen!" The couple held their child and wept together, having narrowly escaped death; how could they not cry?
Yu Suihuan watched this scene, feeling a lump in her throat. She turned her face away to avoid shedding tears.
With a thud, the couple knelt down together. "Yu Suihuan, if it weren't for you, our family would have been separated forever. We don’t know how to repay your great kindness. But from today on, you are our benefactor. If you tell us to go east, we will never go west. Whatever you ask us to do, we will comply without hesitation!"
As they spoke, the couple raised their right hands in a gesture of oath.
"Is that for real?"
"Yes! If any part of what we said today is a lie, may lightning strike us down!"
"Then how about I offer you a chance to live in a world completely different from this one? Would you be willing?"
"A world completely different?" The couple looked at each other in confusion. Was there really a world different from this one?
"Exactly! Just get up; all you need to do is tell me if you're willing!"
Yu Suihuan helped them up. Each had their own thoughts; she didn’t want to influence them or make decisions for them.
"We are willing!" The couple spoke in unison. Although the unknown always brought fear, they were willing to trust Yu Suihuan. Moreover, they knew that staying here was not truly free.
Even if they could manage to survive, when the child grew up, they would still be unable to hold their heads high with a murderer as a father.
