Compared to going to work every day, Yu Suihuan preferred to develop her space. If it weren't for Yang Qinghe, the Two Little Old Ladies, and the two sons she had just met, she would have wanted to stay in the space indefinitely.
Recently, Bai Jie had been urging her to take a few days off so they could explore the mountains together. With everyone else in the family gone to town, only Li Xiuzhen's family remained in the courtyard, making it the perfect opportunity for a break.
"Can we do it?"
"Surely!"
"Right?"
The three of them stood in front of the helicopter, exchanging wide-eyed glances. Everything was ready; they just needed a little push.
"Let’s go, let’s try! Haven’t you ever seen a pig run before if you’ve never eaten pork?"
Yu Suihuan had ridden in a helicopter during her travels and had seen others pilot one. At that time, she thought it looked easy—similar to driving a car. She wasn’t sure if she had learned how to operate it, but at least her eyes had absorbed enough knowledge.
One pedal turned left, another turned right; pushing the stick forward made them go forward, pulling it back made them reverse. Pulling up on the control stick made them ascend, while pushing down made them descend.
After some time of fumbling around, the three of them—and one dog—finally managed to take off in a wobbly manner.
"Wow, this is beautiful!" Bai Jie exclaimed. This place was even more stunning than a paradise; unfortunately, not everyone could enter.
Yu Suihuan was equally thrilled; this was her first time overlooking the entire space. It was breathtakingly unreal, like a painting unfolding before her eyes.
When Bai Jie turned around, she caught sight of Zheng Chengxiu secretly wiping away tears. At that moment, Zheng Chengxiu had changed out of his cartoon pajamas into a full camouflage outfit that made him look significantly more formidable than before. It was true what they said: clothes make the man.
Bai Jie couldn't help but steal a few more glances at him. Why did he look more appealing each time she looked?
"Are you out of your mind?" Bai Jie scolded herself internally. "Why are you daydreaming about him? Get a grip!"
Realizing she had developed such impractical thoughts, Bai Jie quickly shook her head to clear her mind.
As the helicopter flew over the first two peaks and headed toward the third one, this mountain appeared unremarkable from the outside—trees of varying heights obscured any real view of what lay within.
They found a flat spot to land and began their round of jungle exploration.
After walking for a while, they found that this mountain was truly ordinary compared to the previous two. Not only was the vegetation sparse, but even the trees were fewer in number. There were no rare plants or expensive medicinal herbs to be found.
This mountain seemed to lack anything special; it was no different from an ordinary peak in reality! Bai Jie had already lost hope; this mountain was just too mundane.
It didn’t seem like there were any crystals either. Since they had brought tools, why not dig a few shovels and see? If nothing worked out, they could always move on to the next one.
Zheng Chengxiu took out a military shovel and began to dig at a patch of ground that looked relatively loose. “Maybe we can later plant a lot of vegetables here, turning it into a cultivation base. That would be putting it to good use!”
Yu Suihuan believed that everything appeared for a reason. After a few shovels, Zheng Chengxiu suddenly felt resistance while digging.
“What’s wrong? Hitting rock?”
Zheng Chengxiu didn’t rush to answer. He crouched down and brushed away the dirt with his hands.
What was revealed was a stone with a hint of gold shining through. Upon closer inspection, several golden veins could be seen on its surface.
“This… could it be a gold mine?”
Yu Suihuan searched his mind for information about Gold Ore and quickly concluded that the stone before them was indeed Gold Ore, and it contained a significant amount of gold.
“A gold mine? A gold mine?”
