The Master felt a bit anxious. If he could see any signs of the demon, it would be better, but now there was not a trace of it. His calmness began to waver; the unknown always instilled fear.
"You filthy thing! Your whole family is filthy!"
Hearing this, Yu Songyu got angry. She instantly teleported to the bathroom, grabbed the plunger, and hurled it down from the stairs towards the Master’s head.
“Ouch!”
The plunger struck the Master squarely on the head. Caught off guard, he stumbled and nearly fell to the ground, but fortunately, Chen Dexing was there to steady him.
Both of them looked up the stairs and saw a disheveled Li Gui grinning at them with an eerily sinister smile.
“Ah!”
Chen Dexing nearly fainted from fright. He was filled with regret; if it weren't for the Master claiming that this house had good feng shui and would benefit his future, he would have moved out long ago.
“Hairy body, hairy body, Meng and the Feudal Lords. Reporting to the heavens above, reciting the nine provinces below. Wearing a golden crown and armored clothing. Teeth like swords and hands like golden hooks. Slay evil when encountered, capture tigers when met. Decapitate strong ghosts, leave no living ghosts behind. I serve Tianshi Zhenren; divine weapons are urgently summoned as commanded.”
The Master summoned another talisman, but before he could complete his incantation, Yu Songyu dropped a trash can over his head.
“Old Daoist, you’re so annoying! To hell with you!”
Yu Songyu picked up the plunger from the ground and slammed it against the trash can. The Master felt a loud thud in his head before collapsing unconscious on the floor.
Yu Songyu hadn’t intended to harm him at first, but realizing that this old Daoist could work for Chen Dexing, she decided not to hold back any longer.
Chen Dexing witnessed Yu Songyu teleporting directly beside them from upstairs and was so terrified that his legs turned to jelly. He collapsed onto the ground, leaving a large wet spot between his legs.
“Disgusting!”
Yu Songyu was thoroughly repulsed; this old man had an overwhelming stench that nearly made her vomit. She raised the plunger and pressed it hard against Chen Dexing's face. Before she could use her full strength, he fainted.
After sleeping for a day in her space, Yu Songyu felt energetic and thought she hadn’t had enough fun yet.
So she searched through each room, collecting gold and silver jewelry without missing a single piece. In the end, she even took Chen Dexing's safe.
In just one night, this grand mansion was completely ransacked. Even the invited Master’s reputation was ruined; from being held in high esteem to falling into disgrace—he probably wouldn’t be able to continue in this line of work anymore.
The next day, this incident made headlines in local news, causing quite a stir throughout the city; everyone knew about it.
There were all sorts of speculations—some believed that Chen Dexing had done too many bad deeds and was facing retribution. Others who didn’t believe in supernatural occurrences claimed that he must have offended someone, which led to him being frightened into madness overnight.
Yu Songyu sat on the expensive leather sofa in the spacious room, gazing at the news in the newspaper. She felt that for this couple with hearts as cold as snakes and scorpions, one in a vegetative state and the other foolish, was still too merciful.
If it weren't for that wretched Chen Luzhi slipping away so quickly, she would not have let her off the hook. She and her family must pay for Bai Jie’s mother with their lives.
But it didn’t matter; as long as she could find out where Chen Luzhi was currently living, she would not let her escape.
Just as she was about to inquire about Chen Luzhi's whereabouts, her phone rang.
"Hello? Sorry, Miss Yu, your friend's mother..."
Yu Songyu understood Captain Wang's implication.
"Captain Wang, have you found the body?"
"We have found it, but she certainly suffered a lot before her death."
"Could you please help arrange for their burial? I will cover the costs!"
"Are you sure you don’t want your friend to see her mother one last time?"
"Let’s not provoke her right now. I think given her current mental state, she probably wouldn’t be able to handle it!"
Yu Songyu felt that this was too cruel for Bai Jie; she truly couldn’t bear to let her suffer any more.
