Under the cover of night, Yun Yichen ran at full speed until he was certain there were no pursuers behind him. Only then did he stop, hiding in a secluded cave. At this moment, his body was exhausted, and his wounds were bleeding due to the intense exertion. However, he paid no mind to the pain; his heart was filled with curiosity and a desire to explore the newly awakened Lingyuan Eye.
Sitting cross-legged in the cave, Yun Yichen slowly closed his eyes, concentrating on sensing the power of the Lingyuan Eye. When he opened his eyes again, a strange light flickered within them, and the entire world seemed to be covered by a special filter. He could clearly see the flowing veins of Spiritual Energy within the cave's stone walls; those Spiritual Energies resembled shimmering threads, intertwining and converging.
He attempted to use the power of the Lingyuan Eye to perceive his surroundings and discovered that his range of perception had greatly expanded. Subtle movements that were previously undetectable in the darkness now clearly reached his ears. Even the slightest rustle of a small animal in the distant grass could be accurately pinpointed in terms of its location and trajectory.
To further test the abilities of the Lingyuan Eye, Yun Yichen stepped out of the cave. It was just before dawn, and the starlight in the sky was dim. He gazed into the distance and, with the aid of the Lingyuan Eye, spotted an injured beast struggling to crawl in a forest several miles away. Not only that, but he could also see through the dense foliage to hidden ant nests within tree trunks and observe the tiny creatures moving about inside.
Yun Yichen's heart soared with joy; the power of the Lingyuan Eye exceeded his expectations. It not only allowed him to perceive the internal structures of objects and the flow of Spiritual Energy but also granted him an extraordinary sense of awareness. He realized that this would become a significant asset on his path to cultivation—whether for training, combat, or exploring the unknown, the Lingyuan Eye would play a crucial role.
After fully understanding the power of the Lingyuan Eye, Yun Yichen began contemplating his next steps. He knew well that the the Yun Family would not easily let him go; remaining near them would undoubtedly be seeking death. Thus, he decided to leave this area and venture into a broader world in search of new cultivation resources and opportunities.
Yun Yichen traveled along a secluded path, making every effort to avoid crowds. He utilized the Lingyuan Eye to sense potential dangers ahead; whenever someone approached, he would immediately hide. Thus, he moved stealthily through mountains and forests by day and night.
During his journey, Yun Yichen did not forget to cultivate. Using the Lingyuan Eye to observe surrounding Spiritual Energy, he discovered that different locations had varying concentrations and attributes of Spiritual Energy. Based on these differences, he adjusted his cultivation methods, attempting to absorb Spiritual Energy that was more suitable for him to accelerate his training speed.
After several days of travel, Yun Yichen arrived at a small town located at the edge of the Yun Family's influence. The town was bustling with people from all walks of life. Blending into the crowd, Yun Yichen felt both excitement and trepidation in this unfamiliar environment. He entered an inn, rented a room, and planned to rest for a while before continuing on his journey after replenishing some supplies.
While at the inn, Yun Yichen overheard many discussions about the Lingyuan Realm. Some spoke of various cultivation sects' rise and fall; others recounted recent discoveries of mysterious ruins; still others mentioned an impending Lingyuan Catastrophe causing panic throughout the Lingyuan Realm. These tidings made Yun Yichen realize that the Lingyuan Realm was facing a tremendous crisis and that as someone possessing both Lingwen and Lingyuan Eye, he might play an important role during this turmoil.
In town, Yun Yichen purchased some essential items including medicinal pills for cultivation and materials for drawing Lingwen. He also learned from an elder about a cultivation sect called Lingyuan Sect. It was said that Lingyuan Sect had a long history with profound depth; many outstanding cultivators gathered there, and they had made significant achievements in researching Lingwen.
Yun Yichen felt a surge of excitement; he believed that joining Lingyuan Sect could be his new starting point. There, he could access better cultivation resources and guidance while meeting like-minded friends with whom he could explore the mysteries of Lingwen together and face the crisis posed by Lingyuan Catastrophe.
Thus, Yun Yichen decided to head towards Lingyuan Sect. Following clues provided by the elder, he set off on his journey there. Along the way, he continued practicing with both Lingwen and Lingyuan Eye as his strength gradually increased.
After a long journey, Yun Yichen finally arrived at the foot of Lingyuan Sect's mountain. Gazing at its magnificent gate before him filled him with anticipation. He knew that here was where he would embark on a brand new life journey filled with challenges and opportunities.
Yun Yichen adjusted his clothing, took a deep breath, and walked toward Lingyuan Sect's gate. In front of it, he encountered several disciples conducting entrance assessments for new applicants. Approaching them, Yun Yichen expressed his desire to join Lingyuan Sect.
The disciple responsible for screening looked him up and down before saying, "To join Lingyuan Sect, you must pass an entrance assessment consisting of a Lingli Test and a Spirit Pattern Talent Test. Are you prepared?"
Yun Yichen nodded firmly and replied, "I am ready!" At this moment, confidence surged within him. He believed that with his mastery of Lingwen and the power of Lingyuan Eye, he would surely pass the assessment and become a member of Lingyuan Sect—embarking on his legendary path in cultivation there.
Standing before Lingyuan Sect's gate with unwavering determination in his gaze directed at the assessing disciple, he received a stone for the Lingli Test from them. "Place your hand on it and channel your spiritual energy with all your might," they instructed.
Yun Yichen complied; as he did so, his power surged through him quietly as it activated the testing stone with brilliant light that drew gasps from those around him—its intensity far surpassed that of typical applicants.
The assessing disciple's eyes widened in surprise before they proceeded to have Yun Yichen undertake Spirit Pattern Talent Test next. This test required him to perform Lingwen within a specific Lingwen Array to demonstrate mastery over it as well as innate talent. Entering into the array while recalling knowledge learned from ancient masters about Lingwen techniques, Yun Yichen swiftly formed seals with both hands. In an instant, dazzling patterns erupted within the array as their lights intertwined into marvelous designs.
The assessing disciples whispered among themselves in admiration for Yun Yichen's performance. Ultimately, thanks to his outstanding display during both tests, Yun Yichen successfully passed them and officially became an outer disciple of Lingyuan Sect. Following one senior brother toward their living quarters for outer disciples along their way there left him awestruck by Lingyuan Sect’s grandeur—the buildings were beautifully arranged amidst swirling Spiritual Energy where disciples could be seen cultivating everywhere.
Upon arriving at their quarters—far superior compared to where he'd been at the Yun Family's servant area—he found private cultivation rooms along with quiet resting spaces available for use. Once settled in comfortably after organizing everything around him,Yun Yichen eagerly began learning about all available resources for cultivation withinLingyuan Sectand its rules.
