Wasn't that just exhilarating? Even I felt the urge to join in the fun at Truth School.
The production team really went all out; I can only imagine how much money they invested for such effects. The final battle was impressive enough, but the post-war celebrations had so many special effects that it felt like the budget wasn't just burning—it was exploding!
This was true revelry! After the climactic showdown, this is how one should celebrate—music and dancing all around!
As Xu Lie scrolled through Danmaku on his way back to campus, he was greeted by a scene of joyous celebration that brought a smile to his face.
"Principal! Xu Lie!"
Students rushed towards him, excitedly waving their arms to express their enthusiasm.
Xu Lie didn’t hold back; he grinned and raised his hand, high-fiving students along the way, which only made them more exhilarated.
Caught up in the excitement, they forgot all about decorum and surrounded Xu Lie, tossing him into the air.
As he soared up and down, Xu Lie felt particularly elated. Looking around, it was clear that at least in terms of morale at this Logistics Base, everything was perfectly fine.
All they needed was a little more time to produce an abundance of magical items to assist Xu Lie in tackling the remaining challenging Script World tasks.
The festivities at Truth School lasted well into the afternoon, and it wasn’t until nightfall that students began to feel exhausted and returned to their dorms for some rest.
It was inevitable. This morning, even before dawn broke, they had to wake up to eat before heading out for ambush duties.
Even those First Grade newcomers who didn’t have ambush missions were up early, gathering at the cafeteria.
What followed was a series of intense battles; although the upperclassmen executed their ambushes flawlessly, swiftly taking down nearly all the Evil Mage in the east, they still faced significant magic depletion, physical exhaustion, and a mix of complex emotions weighing on them.
After such a victorious celebration at Truth School, it was no wonder they were feeling drained.
As the students returned to rest, the teachers also took a moment to unwind, holding high glasses filled with fine wine while leisurely chatting together and tidying up after the festivities.
After all, while celebrations bring joy, they also leave behind quite a bit of mess.
Fortunately for the Magic Teachers, they only needed to enjoy their drinks and conversation; they could leave the cleanup to Puppet, Water Sprite, and Leaf Sprite.
As magicians go, if there’s one thing they excel at, it’s commanding their subordinates with finesse.
Xu Lie also called over Reiner, the first magician he encountered since arriving in the world of Ben Huo. Reiner was considered the most reliable local person and the safest choice for Xu Lie.
“Xu Lie?” Reiner asked curiously. After their victory in the great battle, why wasn’t Xu Lie celebrating with the teachers? Instead, he seemed to want to have a private conversation.
Xu Lie pulled out a large stack of research project papers. “These are the topics that the teachers at Truth School will continue to delve into over the next five years.”
Reiner’s expression changed in surprise as he quickly realized what Xu Lie was implying. Why else would he hand over this privilege of the principal to him?
“Xu Lie, wait—”
Before he could finish his question, Xu Lie raised a hand to stop him. “Hey, don’t misunderstand. It’s just that after this battle, I’ve gained some new insights and I plan to enter seclusion for a while.”
Reiner finally let out a sigh of relief. So it was just seclusion! That had startled him! It was normal for a magician to enter seclusion to study some mysteries or delve into a particular type of magic; spending several years focused on research without stepping outside was quite common.
Feeling reassured, he accepted the large stack of papers.
“I’ll leave these in your hands while I’m away,” Xu Lie said.
“Vice Principal Rene,” Reiner replied.
