With so many viewers tuning in for the magical effects, Xu Lie had no intention of disappointing them. He planned to showcase some dazzling magic tricks with Kefute, only to swiftly eliminate him in the end. This would not only entertain the audience but also significantly boost his personal ratings. A win-win situation, indeed.
Unbeknownst to Kefute, Xu Lie was already plotting something. As his magical energy quietly surged, he suddenly emerged from the shadows, ready to unleash his spell. It wasn't a straightforward confrontation; while Xu Lie appeared before him, the magic manifested in a cunning manner from behind.
In an uncanny twist, a pitch-black claw with sharp fingers like spears—Black Claw—extended from the void, aiming for Xu Lie's back. At that moment, ten Evil Mages flashed into view, each employing different tactics. Some used invisible forces to trigger explosive spells that startled their targets; others summoned foul-smelling whirlwinds of decay; and some unleashed thorny vines laced with blood.
Everything happened so quickly that Xu Lie was already prepared. He had ample time to deliberately face the camera, raising the corner of his mouth in a mockingly exaggerated expression: quite interesting.
As soon as he spoke, his magic followed suit. A zero-level spell, Mage's Hand, manifested an invisible hand that reached out from behind and intercepted Black Claw. A first-level Light Magic spell dispersed a faint white light that calmed his racing heart. Then came second-level Wood Magic, filling the air with a sweet fragrance that replaced the foul stench. Finally, he unleashed fourth-level Seventh Level Fire Magic—Inferno. With a stomp of his left foot, a ring of fire rapidly expanded outward!
The blood-soaked thorns on the ground ignited and turned to ash within seconds, yet the flames continued to spread uncontrollably toward Kefute and the Evil Mages.
It was just him! After Kefute made his move, he remained vigilant of his surroundings and was surprised by how swiftly and calmly Xu Lie countered. But what pleased him even more was that it was truly just Xu Lie alone—there were no ambushes: time to attack!
No matter how powerful a single mage might be, could he really take on dozens of Evil Mages?
Soon enough, more and more Evil Mages emerged from the narrow shadows—ten, twenty, thirty, forty—until fifty of them all jumped out at once. They had been gathering their strength for Dark Magic aimed directly at Xu Lie.
The sky changed color, plunging into darkness, a dense and overwhelming torrent of dark elements obscuring the starlight.
The Evil Mages unleashed their various sinister spells, crashing down upon Xu Lie like an avalanche.
Bones, flesh, cursed souls, negative emotions;
decaying insects, poisonous flies, sickly rats, human-faced spiders;
black sludge, sewage, green flames, and dark thunder;
a comprehensive assault from all directions aimed to nauseate the senses and reduce him to ashes.
For any other mage, even someone as formidable as Reiner or Qilin Nal, a Grand Mage, it would be nearly impossible to withstand such a barrage.
Yet Xu Lie was different; the more spectacular the collective magic became, the more satisfied he felt.
