The wizard was destined to be the one who loved chasing after mysterious figures. Receiving seven books gifted by Xu Lie, this batch was something that no aspiring mage could refuse, especially those eager to meditate and become a master.
Many were fond of collecting books, and Zheng expressed that this teacher was surely a keeper! The other wizards present had varying reactions; some were slow to respond, simply feeling envy and frustration at themselves for not being able to meditate as quickly as others. Meanwhile, there were those with quicker reflexes who eagerly stepped forward to sign up.
After all, hadn’t Xu Lie mentioned that the magical knowledge recorded from the Truth Gate would be treated as monthly wages for the teaching staff?
“Me, me, me! Mr. Xu Lie, no, just Xu Lie! I excel at Wood Magic! Can I be a teacher?”
“Stay on your tree! You hermit who never leaves home—how can you teach students?”
“Xu Lie, look at me! My two apprentices are quite good; I’m very skilled at teaching them.”
“Xu Lie, he’s not capable. I can outperform him with just one apprentice against his two!”
The atmosphere grew increasingly lively, reminiscent of an Exchange Conference. Signing up, tearing each other down, and hurling insults created a ruckus akin to boiling water; as long as the fire burned, the water wouldn’t stop bubbling.
The trio of Reiner also had their eyes fixed intently on those seven books. Last night, the three old friends had gathered together, during which Reiner had taken out the books gifted by Xu Lie, causing Black Mist and Inquilinar to become even more intrigued.
Though the contents only detailed the mysteries of Thunder Magic, it could lead to other insights! Both Black Mist and Inquilinar recognized that such Magic Books were invaluable!
Now witnessing Xu Lie’s generosity firsthand, how could they resist? Inquilinar felt a strong itch in his heart! He had promised yesterday to help Xu Lie establish a school, not to mention this enticing opportunity!
“Teacher, what’s wrong?” Beck asked, noticing Inquilinar's body trembling slightly with concern.
“It’s nothing,” Inquilinar replied absentmindedly. “You’re about to have many junior brothers soon.”
“??? What does ‘junior brothers’ mean?” Beck asked in confusion.
Inquilinar patted his apprentice’s head again. “What are you still dawdling for? Use your loud voice and help me sign up!”
This time, don’t hold back; shout as loud as you can!
The wizards and their apprentice duo had the audience in stitches.
"Is this really a wizard? They’re no different from the elderly fighting over discounted eggs at the supermarket. Where’s the mysterious elegance of a wizard?"
"Can elegance fill your stomach? These wizards are truly clever; they can gain access to the internal knowledge of the Truth Gate. For those thirsty for knowledge, being a teacher is quite a bargain."
Beck wore a confused expression, laughing. I was even more excited; imagining Beck squeezing into the crowd to showcase his loud voice would surely make me laugh until my stomach hurt.
Xu Lie faced the surging tide of wizards without any sign of panic or urgency, maintaining a calm demeanor. He had long prepared for such a situation: "Everyone, I understand your desire for knowledge. I also hope to cultivate wizards who can once again create truth and summon the Truth Gate through our school. This way, I can share more knowledge that I haven’t had the chance to write down in time."
If this continued one by one, who knows how long it would take?
"Let’s do it this way: let’s set the monthly salary for teachers at three hundred points. Teachers can use these points to exchange for recordings from the Truth Gate or for Magic Books here with me. Alternatively, they can exchange them for Magic Items created from my knowledge of the Truth Gate."
