Whether guarding the gate, moving luggage, or even serving as a shield to delay the magical beasts for a smoother casting later on, the golems were essentially crafted from whatever materials were at hand, shaped with ease and without cost. They were made with a casual disregard for resources.
However, Xu Lie’s golems possessed some basic intelligence; they at least understood how to construct buildings. Even so, Inquilinar believed that it was unlikely they would dismantle an entire mountain—there simply weren't that many golems to be made. Inquilinar acknowledged that the few buildings before them, seven stories high, provided ample accommodation for the wizards. No matter how well they were constructed, there were only a handful of them. How many golems could one possibly create from an entire mountain? Wasn’t it a waste to make so many?
Xu Lie found himself reminiscing about this notion, recalling how the older generation in his past life often advised young people to be frugal. But he brushed it off. Even if he could return to his previous life with a hundred thousand points, he had no desire to go back.
Shaking off these wandering thoughts, Xu Lie faced the camera and earnestly recounted his past story once more. He spoke of how his childhood friends had become strangers and his determination to prove that ordinary people could also walk the path of a wizard. After achieving success, he would enter the Gate of Truth and upon returning, establish a magic school to benefit the masses.
This was the third time Xu Lie had shared this tale; the first was to deceive Reiner, the second to fool Reiner’s old friend Black Mist, and now again to Inquilinar, another of Reiner’s acquaintances. Thus, he spoke with practiced ease, almost able to recite it by heart.
However, this time there was an audience watching. For the sake of personal evaluation, Xu Lie poured extra emotion into his narration, as if he truly felt regret for what had transpired. As he spoke, sunlight bathed him in a radiant glow, making him appear exceptionally grand and impressive.
At least Beric, the magic apprentice, looked at Xu Lie with eyes filled with admiration akin to that of a fan gazing at an idol. Among all the wizards, Beric perhaps understood Xu Lie’s aspirations best. He had long harbored an intense desire for magic; although he was fortunate enough to awaken his magical powers, what if he hadn’t? Would he have spent his life never encountering the wonders of magic?
Beric would regret this for a lifetime. However, he heard from Xu Lie about a path to magic that even ordinary people could grasp. How remarkable that is! This is a blessing for countless others who have yet to awaken their magical powers.
The audience was equally moved.
"This is truly a saint in the real sense. Throughout history, the vast majority have sought fame and fortune, while only a select few aspire to benefit the masses."
"If Xu Lie had not been born, it would be an eternal night for all ages."
"Previously, someone boasted that if our world had magic, it would depend on the Tian Brothers. Now that Xu Lie has created the Meditation Method, what do they have to say? Come out and face us!"
"Greatness needs no further words!"
Inquilinar felt the same way. He genuinely believed that the Black-Haired Young Man before him, despite being naturally attuned to dark elements, was even more favored by the Light Element in spirit and will.
Inspired by this, Inquilinar decisively declared, "Count me in! Don't let my old bones fool you; I can still get things done!"
This gave Reiner the opportunity to chat with his old friends. "Wonderful! Our trio is reunited once more."
Other mages felt similarly, and they decided to start the Exchange Conference early tomorrow to formally propose this matter.
