Reiner stared at Xu Lie in disbelief, unable to ignore the stiffness in his shoulders and neck from maintaining a fixed reading posture for too long. His eyes were filled with astonishment! The Gate of Truth! Could it truly exist?
Reiner was not boasting about himself; among all the mages in the continent, he considered himself to be in the top three when it came to the study and mastery of magic, particularly that of Lei Su. No mage would dare claim they were ahead of him. Yet, it was precisely this understanding that made Reiner more capable than other mages of appreciating the invaluable knowledge contained within this book about Thunder Magic.
His current feelings were akin to those of the world's greatest swordsman, undefeated in combat, who suddenly encounters a deity and witnesses that deity slice a mountain peak in half with a single strike. To describe the preciousness of the knowledge within this book, Reiner felt that at eighteen, his perspective had been limited, like a frog at the bottom of a well looking up at the moon; now, however, reading felt like a mayfly witnessing the vast sky.
Thus, Reiner believed that there might indeed be a door in the world that concealed all mysteries and truths. Otherwise, there would be no way to explain how Xu Lie could research such magical knowledge so effortlessly! Judging by his hair color, Xu Lie was still aligned with dark elements and not with Lei Su's affinity. Even if he had been studying magic since birth, he could not have reached this level.
Eliminating all possibilities, the only conclusion left was that the truth—the Gate of Truth—existed!
With this thought in mind, Reiner's excitement surged as he felt his aging face flush with color, his beard trembling slightly. He held the book tightly in his hands as he hurried over to Xu Lie. “Xu Lie! No! Mr. Xu Lie! How... how can I find the Gate of Truth?!”
In just a few hours, Reiner had transformed from a skeptic into a fervent believer in the Gate of Truth. There was no denying it; knowledge does not deceive, and the allure of Thunder Magic contained within this book was simply too great for him to resist.
Xu Lie had been waiting for Reiner to ask such questions. In the past, during his time in Script World, he had focused solely on mischief and would never have wasted time on someone like Reiner. But now things were different; to unify this world of Ben Huo, he needed to gather more hands: the Gate of Truth held all knowledge and truth within it.
This included how to summon the Gate of Truth itself. There were two methods to summon it.
The first was to exhaust all truths in the world; when every truth had been thoroughly discovered and verified by people, then the Gate of Truth would permanently descend.
The second was to create truth...
The truths of the world are limited, yet human creativity is boundless. When someone creates a new truth that has never been recorded, the Gate of Truth will appear before them, opening briefly. This allows for the inclusion of this new truth as a contribution, granting a fleeting entry into its realm.
The methods are few and straightforward. Reiner fully understood that the first method was nearly impossible to achieve; to attempt it would require at least hundreds or even thousands of years. Even then, humanity might not be able to accomplish it completely.
The real hope lies in the second method: creating an entirely new truth! Reiner looked at Xu Lie in disbelief, feeling as if he were witnessing a mayfly encountering the vast sky for the first time. His gaze was not that of someone looking at a fellow human, but rather at a prodigy: You… you have created a new truth?
Xu Lie calmly nodded, showing no hint of arrogance. "I have created a Meditation Method," he stated. "It can allow ordinary people to become magicians."
