As William contemplated the chaos around him, he couldn't help but think that from a realistic standpoint, a midnight ambush should remain a secret. There was a valid reason not to inform him and his team. If he were in charge, he would have turned to the Military-Industrial Complex for weapons and launched an attack on the Great Federation.
Just as William was about to smash the wall for the third time, a bright light flickered in the sky, drawing his attention. He instinctively looked up and saw the all-too-familiar Alien UFO hovering majestically above. For a moment, even the sounds of artillery fire seemed to pause; no one knew why the Alien Life had chosen this moment to appear.
It was as if the silence of the gunfire had prompted the UFO to project Light and Shadow, revealing a colossal humanoid figure of Xu Lie in the night sky: "I am merely here to observe for future research. You need not worry about us; we will not interfere in your civil war."
Despite Xu Lie's assurance of non-interference, both sides seemed to escalate their conflict even further. The booming sounds of cannon fire and the frequency of explosions surpassed anything heard before!
William glared at the UFO, cursing under his breath. Non-interference? If it weren't for these Alien Life forms, the Great Federation wouldn't be embroiled in such internal strife! Moreover, they were using his idol's fierce appearance, which only fueled his anger further. Any fan would feel enraged at such blasphemy against their idol.
In a fit of rage, William pulled out his gun and aimed it at the UFO, firing a shot. The result was predictable; the distance between them was far beyond that of a handgun's range, and he had no idea where the bullet had gone.
However, that single gunshot triggered a misunderstanding. From nearby homes and high-rise buildings, countless rifles emerged from windows, aiming outward. Startled, William quickly sought cover; he had no desire to experience a literal rain of bullets.
With so many guns drawn, it wasn't just about being shot to pieces; if he managed to find even a small part of himself amidst all those bullets, it would be considered luck.
"Good grief! Are foreigners really this intense? One shot on the street and suddenly there are hundreds of guns pointed at me! What an eye-opener!"
"This isn't an ordinary situation; with all this artillery fire, it's natural for people to react defensively. Even in regular shootouts, you wouldn't see so many guns drawn."
"Hahaha! William hiding in fear is just too cute!"
"This scene is truly epic! Planes, armored vehicles, artillery positions—so many people and weapons! This production team's budget must be astronomical!"
The camera shifted to capture the front lines of the battlefield. Why was it still following William? Normally, it was fine to stick with the protagonist, but now it should focus on the grand spectacle unfolding!
In the sky, Xu Lie casually glanced at a few Danmaku messages before retracting his gaze and contacting Anthony. "How's it going?"
On the other end of the dedicated communication line, Anthony was sitting in the basement beneath Charles's villa, enjoying a drink and savoring a cigar, feeling quite pleased with himself. Upon receiving Xu Lie's call, he respectfully set down his cigar and replied, "Sir, I have successfully joined up with Charles. We are currently hiding in the basement and it’s relatively safe."
Charles echoed this sentiment, putting aside his high-end cigar that was still emitting wisps of smoke, and respectfully added, "Is there anything you need us to do, sir?"
When speaking with Xu Lie, Charles never took his time; he was always concise. After giving them a few instructions about what they needed to do next, Xu Lie ended the communication.
