To show his sincerity, Anthony first allowed everyone from the Investigation Bureau to leave before he walked into the crowd of Cobra Gang members. Ignoring the eager members of the Viper faction beside him and the palpable malice in the air, he headed straight for Charles.
Charles was enjoying a cigar, slowly exhaling clouds of smoke. Anthony took his time and lit a cigarette for himself, stating, "We should have a good talk."
Charles waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to take their men away first. The Cobra Boss's authority was undeniable; no words were needed. With just a gesture, he commanded the Viper faction to withdraw completely, leaving even the drivers of their luxury cars behind. They understood and moved further away, promising to return later to pick up their people.
As they left, the Viper members exchanged glances, unsure if their boss truly intended for Director Anthony’s viewpoint to keep them quiet about the UFO. They had initially thought about posting it online to attract attention and make a name for themselves. When they asked their leaders, they were met with head shakes, indicating they should wait for Boss Charles's instructions and not act on their own.
A few minutes later, after finishing his cigarette, Anthony noticed that Charles's cigar had hardly changed; all their subordinates had left. At that moment, a figure leisurely strolled out from within the port. If any of the Black Side members who had been left behind saw this big shot, they might be stunned by the sight of a living person in a place permeated by nuclear radiation.
However, Charles and Anthony were clearly unfazed. They even stepped forward to greet him warmly, their faces still polite but quickly shifting to a more congenial demeanor, shedding their previous solemnity.
First things first: tonight’s mission was successfully completed. Xu Lie nodded slightly, affirming their achievements: "You both did well."
But this scene was temporarily out of view for the audience because Xu Lie had adjusted the filming permissions and moved the camera that was following Charles. Only then did Charles and Anthony relax and share a smile with one another. "To get things done first is our mission," one said. "Everything relies on our prior plans; we dare not be complacent."
In this scene, such flattery must never be spoken of outside! If anyone were to witness it, the pinnacle of the Black Side would bow respectfully to Xu Lie. Both the characters within the Script World and the audience from the Dimension Outside would likely be terrified, their scalps tingling with fear.
In reality, Charles and Anthony before him were merely Imagination Humans customized by Xu Lie from the company. Before entering the Script World of Black and White, Xu Lie had already fabricated backgrounds for these two Imagination Humans, allowing them to replace the roles of Cobra Boss and Director in the story.
Just like how in the previous world of Cang Hai Jue, the Second Prince was also replaced and portrayed by Xu Lie. It’s worth noting that the higher the status of a character in the story, the greater the cost of replacement. Just for Charles and Anthony’s positions, crafting their backgrounds required nearly two thousand points from Xu Lie.
However, looking at it now, it seems well worth the investment. At least tonight's commotion and the scale of trouble caused made Xu Lie feel that this expenditure was justified. This included those two rookie Smugglers who appeared at the beginning; they were also Imagination Humans. Those two were merely there to serve as scapegoats, so aside from the basic costs of being Imagination Humans and a minimal amount of shooting skills, nothing else was included. Their backgrounds were completely omitted, making them entirely black-market entities in this world.
