The Eighth Episode has finally arrived!
After waiting for seven long days, I could hardly contain my frustration with the production team for leaving us hanging at such a critical moment! I remember the last episode ended with Xu Lie expressing his desire to avoid causing a stampede, and then it just cut off. It was infuriating. According to Xu Lie, he could have easily escaped this pursuit by inciting panic among the people, but he chose not to. Ah, Xu Lie truly possesses a sense of justice deep down.
As the Eighth Episode begins, the scene is not set in front of the General Hospital's outpatient building. Instead, we are taken back to Xu Lie's childhood. To be more precise, it is a portrayal of a lifeless, zombie-like young Xu Lie.
This little child, who should be innocent and endearing, has eyes that are dull and devoid of life, resembling a high-tech manufactured doll. There is not a hint of vitality.
What is going on here? Is this still a drama?
The more I look at this child, the more he resembles Nan Er!
It's normal; it's a flashback meant to show us how young Xu Lie transformed into who he is now.
Honestly, while I usually find children adorable, seeing young Xu Lie like this is somewhat unsettling.
In the scene, young Xu Lie is lighting incense in an empty and messy room. Aside from the clean altar, the floor is littered with chaos. The camera even zooms in on a photo of the deceased—a sister who looks incredibly gentle.
The audience knows all too well that this is Xu Lie's sister and the source of all his vengeful actions.
Afterward, we see Xu Lie spending his days holed up at home, either reading or self-studying on the computer. Occasionally, we hear off-screen sounds of other children joyfully playing and laughing. This stark contrast with young Xu Lie's solitary and diligent studying creates an eerie sense of disconnection—it's as if they are two children from different worlds.
The camera occasionally focuses on some of his study materials, clearly showing the audience that Xu Lie is self-learning subjects like chemistry, explosives, electronic science and technology, and even biology. In the end, he even orders a large number of electronic components online to assemble various machines of all sizes.
In the end, Xu Lie, who was growing up day by day, finally completed a work he was most proud of—a super Mini Robot.
"Wow, that's so pitiful. Such a small child, and life has turned out this way, as if there is no light left in his life."
"This is true genius! Completely self-taught in chemistry, biology, explosives, and electronics. The most outrageous part is that Xu Lie managed to create it all himself."
"It turns out that the little gadget Xu Lie released earlier to cut off the clinic's surveillance was actually his own Mini Robot. This talent is truly remarkable."
"If Xu Lie's sister hadn't died, he would probably grow up to be a world-renowned scientist."
Having created the Mini Robot, Xu Lie officially set out for school.
From the audience's perspective, it could be seen that every day after school, Xu Lie would take a longer route, passing by the future explosion site of Gene Building. He secretly released the Mini Robot to infiltrate and scout the specific architectural structure, laying a solid foundation for future actions.
This earned him waves of praise from Danmaku, who commended his strategic thinking and ability to avoid impulsive actions.
Huh? Watching the discussions in Danmaku and facing off against Undercover, Xu Lie appeared calm on the surface, not revealing any flaws, but inside he felt utterly bewildered.
