Whether used for guarding, moving items, or even as a shield to delay the magical beasts for a more convenient follow-up, the golems were crafted from whatever materials were at hand, easily molded into shape without any particular finesse. They were often misused without a second thought.
However, Xu Lie's golems possessed a degree of intelligence; at the very least, they understood how to construct buildings. Even so, Inquilinar believed that it was unnecessary to dismantle an entire mountain—there simply wasn't that much need for them.
Inquilinar acknowledged that the few buildings before him, seven stories high and designed for the mages' residence, were quite impressive. But no matter how well they were built, there were only so many of them. How many golems could one create from an entire mountain? Wasn't it a waste to make so many?
Xu Lie felt a twinge of nostalgia as he recalled how the older generation in his past life often advised the youth to be frugal. But he brushed it aside. Even if he could return home with a hundred thousand points, he had no desire to go back.
Gathering his thoughts, Xu Lie faced the camera and recounted his story once more with righteous fervor. He spoke of how his childhood friends had drifted apart and his determination to prove that ordinary people could also become mages. After achieving success, he would enter the Truth Gate and upon returning, establish a magic school to benefit the masses.
This was the third time Xu Lie had told this tale; the first was to deceive Reiner, the second to trick Reiner's old friend Black Mist, and now it was being recounted again to Inquilinar. Thus, he spoke with such familiarity that it was almost second nature, nearly memorized word for word.
However, this time there was an audience watching. For the sake of personal evaluation, Xu Lie infused extra emotion into his narrative, as if he felt deep regret for what had transpired. As he spoke, sunlight bathed him in a radiant glow, making him appear exceptionally grand and impressive.
At least one person in the audience, the magic apprentice Beric, looked at Xu Lie with eyes filled with admiration akin to that of a fan gazing at an idol. Perhaps among all the mages present, Beric understood Xu Lie's aspirations best. He had long yearned for magic since childhood; although he was fortunate enough to awaken his magical powers, what if he hadn't? Would he have spent his life never experiencing the wonders of magic?
Beric would regret this for a lifetime, especially after hearing from Xu Lie about the path to magic that even ordinary people could grasp. What an incredible achievement! This was a beacon of hope for countless others who had yet to awaken their magical powers.
The audience was equally moved.
"This is a true sage in every sense. Throughout history, the vast majority have sought fame and fortune, while only a select few aspire to benefit the masses."
"If Xu Lie had not been born, the world would remain in eternal darkness."
"That person over there claimed that if magic truly existed in our world, it would depend on talent. But now that Xu Lie has created the Meditation Method, what do you have to say? Step forward and face us!"
"Greatness needs no further words!"
Inquilinar felt similarly. He truly believed that the Black-Haired Youth before him, though naturally attuned to dark elements, was also favored by the Light Element due to his strong spirit and will.
Inspired by this, Inquilinar decisively declared, "Count me in! Don’t let my old bones fool you; I can still get things done!"
This gave Reiner the opportunity to reconnect with his old friends. "Wonderful! The three of us are together again."
Other mages were also eager to join in, as the sky seemed to signal an early start to their exchange meeting, officially proposing this matter.
