Xia Qingyu approached with a gentle smile, softly saying, "Husband, you have finally returned."
Lin Feng gazed affectionately at the graceful Xia Qingyu and replied, "Yes, I’m back."
With that, they walked side by side toward the inner courtyard. They passed through winding corridors, where a gentle breeze brushed against them, carrying the fragrance of blooming flowers.
Before long, they arrived at Lin Feng's room. The residence was elegantly decorated, with vibrant double happiness characters and red silk still hanging prominently at the windows, seemingly exuding the sweet atmosphere of their wedding.
Xia Qingyu gracefully entered the room, walked to the table, and personally served Lin Feng a steaming cup of fragrant tea. "Husband, you must be tired from your journey. Please enjoy some tea," she said softly.
Lin Feng accepted the teacup but couldn’t help but feel puzzled. He wondered why his wife would personally attend to serving tea when there were servants responsible for that task. Did she have something important to discuss with him?
As he slowly savored the tea, he observed Xia Qingyu’s actions. She stood quietly beside him, and only after he set down the teacup did she slowly begin to speak. "Husband, today Qie Shen went to check on our properties. To be honest, there are indeed some issues that need to be addressed."
Upon hearing this, Lin Feng's expression grew serious as he quickly asked, "Wife, what problems have arisen?"
Xia Qingyu furrowed her brow slightly and thought for a moment before responding. "Husband, first of all, there’s the fabric shop. The styles of fabric being sold are too outdated and fail to keep up with current trends, making it difficult to attract customers. Additionally, the shop assistants have a lax work attitude and lack enthusiasm in their service, resulting in a significant loss of clientele."
Lin Feng fell into a brief contemplation after hearing this. After a while, he lifted his head and looked at Xia Qingyu with determination in his eyes. "You are absolutely right. Regarding the current situation of the fabric shop, I believe we can recruit a group of skilled and creative individuals to design new fabric styles that meet customer demands. At the same time, we should retrain our existing staff to enhance their business skills and service quality. This way, we might improve the shop's operations."
Xia Qingyu nodded slightly in agreement. "What you say makes perfect sense. However, to implement these ideas will require money, and right now our finances are quite tight."
She gently furrowed her brow, revealing a hint of concern on her face.
Lin Feng quickly reached out and tightly grasped Xia Qingyu's delicate hand, gently reassuring her, "My lady, please do not worry too much. I will find a way to transfer some silver from elsewhere to alleviate our immediate difficulties. Once our family's business gradually regains its vitality, we will naturally turn losses into profits."
He looked at Xia Qingyu with unwavering determination, as if he were infusing her with a powerful strength. With that, a gentle smile blossomed on her face, as captivating as the first flowers of spring. Lin Feng nodded and continued, "My lady, I often have to spend most of my time in court dealing with affairs, so I will have to rely on you to take care of many matters at home." His words were filled with affection and appreciation for his wife.
