Then, Liang Zhongshu took a small step back and said, "This file records a case of missing persons. According to our investigation, there have been over a dozen mysterious disappearances in that village, all involving individuals in their prime working age."
As he spoke, Liang Zhongshu unconsciously raised his eyes to observe Lin Feng's changing expression. Upon hearing this, Lin Feng couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, revealing a hint of surprise on his face. He reached out to take the file, slowly opened it, and began to examine it page by page.
As he read deeper, his previously relaxed demeanor gradually turned serious and solemn. Suddenly, Lin Feng stopped flipping through the file and looked up at Liang Zhongshu, asking in a deep voice, "Have there been similar cases reported before?"
Liang Zhongshu quickly nodded in response, saying, "Yes, my lord. In fact, there have been quite a few such cases; just in Linbo County alone, there have been more than a dozen."

Lin Feng furrowed his brow, lightly tapping his right index finger on the table, producing a crisp sound. He understood that this matter was of great importance; if mishandled and news leaked out, it would undoubtedly incite panic among the populace.
Thus, with a serious expression, he instructed, "This matter must not be made public. We must act with utmost caution and ensure that the people remain unaware. Additionally, you should immediately send people discreetly to investigate whether there are any individuals in the city exhibiting strange behavior or with dubious backgrounds. Remember to keep it secret; do not alert the enemy."
"Understood, my lord." Liang Zhongshu clasped his fists in acknowledgment and hurriedly turned to leave.
Lin Feng slowly sat back down in his chair, his gaze once again falling upon the heavy file. After pondering for a moment, he called out loudly, "Come here!"
"Yes, my lord," a servant responded promptly.
"Quickly bring me all the files related to previous missing persons cases for review."
Lin Feng issued a command without hesitation.
"Yes," the attendant replied, not daring to delay. He quickly bowed and withdrew to carry out the task.
As time passed, Lin Feng sat quietly, waiting.
Finally, after a considerable amount of time, several individuals from Chai Yi hurried in, each carrying a thick stack of files. They carefully placed the files on the table and respectfully stood to the side.
Lin Feng casually picked up one of the files and opened it, only to be taken aback.
He hadn't expected there to be so many missing persons cases—upon rough estimation, there were at least dozens. What was even more surprising was that the vast majority of these cases had occurred near Youzhou.
